My own Recipe (Egusi Soup):Best for lunch and dinner.

Hello friends and family members on this amazing platform. Today , I bring to all one of the most enjoyable traditional meal in my country .Which is no other than “Egusi soup”. This meal is special because of it nutritional value in the body.It can be eaten with a combination of so many things rice, Garri, yams coconut etc.Egusi soup is one of the meals consumed in all the ten regions of Cameroon.

Many people have a way of preparing but there is that one particular recipe that gives what you want at the end.Its a pleasure for me today to share with you people my own recipe how to prepare a simple good Egusi soup .

Delicious Egusi soup to be Garri

My explanation below 👇🏼 will give all the details of my recipe Egusi soup and how to prepare it .I hope you all will learn something new from my recipe.Stay tune as I demonstrate the recipe of Egusi Soup below.

Ingredients of Egusi Soup

The following are the ingredients one needs to prepare Egusi soup with as follows.My recipe will focused on the quantity of Egusi I will want to prepare.

  • Tomatoes
  • Lics
  • Green spices
  • Onions
  • A cub of maggi cravet
  • Bush meat or any other meat
  • Garlic
  • White pepper
  • Njansa
  • Salt
  • Bush meat

Steps involved how to prepare Egusi Soup

The following is the recipe to follow in other to prepare a good delicious egusi soup.

Step1

Select your cracked egusi seeds make sure it dry well before you grind it in a dry blender machine .

Step2

Sliced all your Ingredients and be ready to prepare the soup with .Make sure you do it at desirable sizes .

Step3

Grind your dry Ingredients your spicies such Garlic, Njansa , and white pepper .You can still blend it using a machine if you like to use a blender.

Step4

I used dry bush meat to prepare my egusi soup.I already soaked it in the water to get soft. Then I sliced my bush meat at desirable sizes boiled on the Gas for some 7minutes .I make sure it should completely dry some stock of meat should remain the water.

Take note you can use use any meats to prepare your egusi soup.

Step5

I have to put my clean pot on the gas cooker .When it warm I add in my vegetable oil. Allow it to heat abit then I add in my spices and fry .

Step6

I add in maggi and abit of salt inside the ingredients fried .After, my grind dry egusi I put it inside and fry well inside the spices until it dry .Reason been that when I add water in the pot it should be airy and not thick.

Some people put water inside the grind egusi before they mixed it and put in the pot to fry .For me it not advisable if you want your egusi to airy and taste good .Put your grind egusi dry inside the pot without water and fry first before you add water.

Step7

Add in water in your very egusi and spices .Make sure you always estimate the quantity of water to put .Inorder for your Egusi not to be watery. Add Garlic, white pepper and Njansa and allow it to cook well inside the soup for about 8 to 10minutes .

If it does not cook well and get ready your Egusi soup will be smelling uncooked.Indicating the Egusi is not ready.

Step8

After, 10 minutes of cooking your Egusi add in your boiled meat with the stuck in the Egusi soup .Allow it to cook together for 4 to 5minutes .

Step9

When you open the put and you see your Egusi soup producing but more of oil and water is not surpassing the soup .It means your Egusi soup is ready .Here is my delicious Egusi .

Take note, I made mentioned it can be eaten with cooked Garri ,rice , pounded yams and coco , plantain etc .I decided to enjoy the meal with cooked Garri. My meal is ready to be consumed.Egusi soup with Garri as my dinner.

My dear , a blend of good ripe tomatoes with Onga will give you a different good attractive look of your egussi. .I don’t think there is any other English name given for Njansa but will try to investigate.Incase you are confuse I can snap and sent to you .Thanks for engaging in my post .
