Hello my dear Steemit friends. I enjoy writing about different topics and sharing my experiences with all of you. Today i am joining the contest called "My Taste for: The Fish 🐟". In this post i will tell you how much i love fish how often i eat it my favorite kind of fish how i like to eat it and my favorite fish recipe. I hope you will enjoy reading it.
How often do you eat fish?
I eat fish quite often especially in winter. In cold weather my family cooks fish once or twice a week. In summer we eat it less often maybe once every two weeks. My parents say fish is very good for healths because it gives us energy and is full of protein i enjoyt eating fish with my family at lunch or dinner. Sometimes we also cook fish when we have guests. Fish is a special food for us and we all enjoy it together.
What is your favorite fish?
My favorite fish is Rohu. It is a freshwater fish that we find easily in Pakistan. Rohu is soft tasty and full of flavor. It has a great texture when cooked properly. I also like Pomfrets and Surmai but Rohu will always be my top favorites i grew up eating it and it reminds me of good family memories. Every times my mother makes Rohu i feels very happy and excited.
What is your favorites way to eats fish: grilled, baked, fried, or some thing else?
My favorites way to eat fish is frieds. Fried fish is crispy on the outside and soft insides. I like the crunchy layer that comes from the masala and flour. It tastes even better with lemon juice and green chutney. Sometimes we also grill fish during outdoor picnics or on cold nights but fried fish is my first choice. It is simple quick and full of flavor. When the fish is hot and crispy i feels so satisfied after eating it.
What is your favorite side dish to accompany fish?
The best sides dish with fish is plain boiled rice and mint chutney the softs rice and spicy chutney balance the taste of fried fish. I also enjoy salad with onion cucumber and tomato. Sometimes when the fish is cooked in curry we eat it with roti or naan. But with fried fish i always prefer rice and chutney. A littles bits of lemons juice on the fish makes it even more delicious.
Describe your favorite fish recipes including the ingredients and preparation method.
Now i will share my favorite fish recipe. This is how my mother and i cooked Fried Rohu Fish at home. It is easy to makes and tastes amazing.
Ingredients:
1 kg Rohu fish (cut into medium-sized pieces)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon ginger paste
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 tablespoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon salt (or as needed)
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon gram flour (besan)
1 tablespoon rice flour (for extra crispiness)
Oil for deep frying
Method:
Wash the fish pieces well and drain all water.
In a bowl add lemon juice ginger paste and garlic paste to the fish. Mix and leave for 10 minutes.
Add red chili powder turmeric salt cumin powder gram flour and rice flour. Mix everything well so the fish is fully covered with spices.
Let it rests for 30 minutes so the flavored goes inside the fish.
Heat oils in a frying pan on mediums flame.
Carefuly puts the fish pieces in the hot oils and fry them until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Take them out and place on tissue paper to remove extra oil.
Fish is one of my favorite foods. It is tasty healthy and full of good memories i enjoyed cooking and eating it with my familys. Fried fish especially Rohu brings joy to my hearts and makes me feels full and happy. I believes everyone should eat fish regularly because it is very good for our health.
