Yes, there are certain preservation methods to maintain the taste, aroma and nutritional value of oregano. For example,
Cut the oregano plant and hang it upside down in a shady, well-ventilated place.
You can dry it in the oven at 40-50°C for 1-2 hours.
When dry, crush the leaves and store them in an airtight glass jar.
Wash the fresh oregano leaves thoroughly, drain the water, cut them into small pieces, place them on a tray, and add water and olive oil.
Clean and dry the raw oregano leaves. Place the leaves in a glass - jar and add good quality olive oil on top. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.
Preservation of oregano leaves in white vinegar maintains its preservation properties.
The most common and effective of these methods is drying. This keeps oregano good for a long time and can be easily used in cooking.
