Dish: Mota Chawal (Thick Rice) with Spiced Yogurt Sauce
Hello amazing chefs
Today I am excited to share my humble yet delicious homemade recipe Mota Chawal (thick rice) serve with a flavorful and creamy spiced Yogurt topping. This dish is comforting simple and pack with flavor. Here how I made it:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of thick rice (mota chawal)
- 1 medium onion thinly sliced
- 2 ripe tomatoes sliced
- 2–3 tablespoons of green chili-garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
- For topping: Yogurt mixed with chopped green crush garlic and spices
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1:
Rinse and soak 2 cup of mota Chawal thick rice in Water for 20–30 minutes.

Step 2:
Prepared your veggies Thinly slice onion tomatoes and makes a fresh green chili-garlic paste.

Step 3:
In a pot heat some oil sauté the onions until golden add tomatoes and the chili paste. Cook well.
Drain the soaked rice and add it to the mix. Add salt and enough water. Let it cook Until rice is tenders and flufy.
Step 4 (Final):
Top it with a dollop of yogurt mixed with fresh herbs crush garlic and seasoning. Serve hot
