There’s a typhoon hitting the Philippines at the moment. It’s already the third straight day of rough weather. The rain’s been coming and going all day, and sometimes the wind gets strong too. Some areas in the city are flooded again, including ours. Good thing the rain has eased up a bit now.

Because I didn’t want to miss this dessert challenge despite the bad weather, I told my husband to drive for me so I could buy the ingredients. Good thing, I was able to find everything I needed right away and complete my list of ingredients.

Here are the ingredients of the fifth dessert challenge called “Biscuit Pudding”.

  • 200g biscuits
  • 70g sugar
  • 50g butter
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 tsp. powdered milk
  • 50g of chocolate
  • 100 ml. Water

Procedure:

1. In a clean bowl, Finely crushed the biscuits into small pieces. I used the MY San Graham Biscuits, because this type of biscuit is meant for dessert.

2. Combine all the dry ingredients (sugar, cocoa powder, and the powdered milk) and mix them well using a whisk.

3. Add 100 ml of water and bring the mixture to a boil while continuing to whisk it.

7. Put it in a clean container and press it down using a spatula to shape the container you're using.

8. Chill it in the fridge for around 10 minutes.

9. Double boil the chocolate until it melts, as seen in the picture.

11. I garnished it with crushed graham for additional presentation.

12. I also melted chocolate as toppings.

Did you enjoy the biscuit pudding you made? Or did you give it to someone else? Can you describe it?

This is my first time doing this and tasting this dessert. It’s not something people know about here in my country. In fact, I only found this menu in this dessert challenge.

Of course, I take the first bite, for me it's a little sweet, and I think if you don't like sweet dessert, you have to lower the sugar content or use the unsweetened chocolate. Or maybe it is because of the biscuits that I use, which are also sweet. But nothing to worry about. The sweetness is approved by my youngest. You know, kids, they always love sweet desserts, especially if it has chocolate, it's always a wow for them. He even told me that he can finish all of that, and I told him to leave some for his older brother.

My son looked at me and said, “Is this another dessert challenge? Maybe he’s already used to me doing a challenge every Saturday. He also asked, "How about next week?" Is there another challenge again? I just smiled. I could tell he’s already excited about what I’ll be making next week. This kid stayed up so late just because he is too excited about the dessert I was making!

I joined this challenge mainly because of them. I wanted them to experience something different for once.

Explain the specialty of Biscuit Pudding.

  • If you don't know what it is called, you'd mistake it for a cake, especially how it looks and the way it is topped with chocolate.
  • The crushed biscuit adds its uniqueness, it is still a little crunchy and perfect when combined with other ingredients.
  • It’s super simple to make, and you can easily find the ingredients just about anywhere.
  • Ingredients are affordable.
  • It is chocolatey and creamy, perfect for kids and those who are kids at heart.
  • You can make this for just about any occasion, big or small.

My first try at biscuit pudding? Sweet, messy, fun, and totally worth it. I didn’t expect much, but their smiles said it all. That alone made it all worth it. Maybe it’s not just about desserts. Maybe it’s about creating little moments they’ll remember, one bite at a time.

Let’s see what we’ll whip up next Saturday!

I am inviting @kyrie1234, @natz04, and @thaizmaita to join this contest.

Hello amiga, Yes the weather here in the Philippines sometimes is unpredictable and typhoon is been part of our lives. Still I enjoyed doing this recipe despite the bad weather in my country. My family also loves the taste of it even it is a little sweet.

Maybe next time doing this recipe I will also use the bitter cocoa. Thank you for this idea.

Muchas gracias amiga!
