Who wouldn’t love chocolate bars? Is there anyone out there? Yeah, co’z this is something irresistible! That satisfying crunch of finely ground peanuts blended with the natural sweet taste of dates, topped with melted dark chocolate…mmmm! It's heaven!

This marks the fourth challenge, and this is where the world revolves for a challenger like me who wanted to learn about dessert making. Every moment means everything along the process as you learn something new and share it with others. These challenges have given me ideas about low-budget and easy to make desserts. This is not just for my kids, but especially something I can serve during occasions.

Explain the importance of the dates we used in preparing this dessert. Are they available in your country?.

I was thinking of using raisins as a substitute for dates, but the moment I saw dates in person, it's totally different. The size, the color, and the texture are nothing alike.

This week is a real challenge for me. I find it hard to look for dates. That fruit is not common to us Filipinos. It is quite rare. Not many people are familiar with it. You won't find dates in department stores. Luckily, I found an international store in the city. I finally got to buy it. It took me long enough!

What is the rule of dates in this recipe?

  • It is naturally sweet with a little nuttiness makes this chocolate bar unique.
  • It's something new, and the kids or consumers find it curious how it tastes.
  • The dates have a sticky texture. Combining it with honey makes the other ingredients stick together when you're forming a bar.
  • Once you're done, you can actually serve it right away. No need to refrigerate it because the bar is already firm even after adding the toppings.

What festive occasion can we prepare this Date And Nut Bars dessert for? What do you think about this Date and Nut Bars dessert?.

This is perfect for weddings and giveaways. That is why in my last photo, I am holding a bouquet of flowers, and I topped the dates and nut bars with gold flakes. I feel like I’m at a wedding, giving these out to the visitors. It is truly a perfect and unique giveaway because it is not only delicious and healthy, but also it is very presentable, especially if you pack it nicely.

I think, for a more elegant and meaningful presentation, consider wrapping it with parchment paper or placing it in a small box with a transparent lid, and finish it with a colored ribbon according to the wedding motifs. You can also enhance the look by adding some white flowers.

You will not go wrong if you make it in business, only if the dates are abundant in your area.
