"SLC-S24/W3 | Ribbon Cake"

Greetings and welcome to another beautiful cake class. This time around is ribbon cake. We’ll join me as we unleash the beauty of ribbon cake making.

Make the given recipe in detail with step by step pictures. Include your name tag with the date at the final presentation of the recipe.

I made the ribbon cake with the recipe provided in class and the ingredients I used includes;

  • Flour
  • sugar
  • butter
  • baking powder
  • Vanilla flavor
  • Eggs
  • pink and green food coloring

For icing

  • Butter
  • Icing sugar

Procedure

I put my butter into the bowl and added sugar to it. I stirred for a while until colour lightened and I added the eggs and continued to stir until I got a lighter texture and the sugar dissolves. I added the vanilla flavor. I sived my flour and added baking powder and mixed and then added them into the butter mix and folded in.

I divided the batter into two and added two drops of pink and green coloring to each of them and mixed. I got the two different cake colors.

I greased my cake pans and added my cake mix. Preheated my improvised oven and added the two cake pans. I allowed to bake until the cake was ready.

I allowed the cake to get cold and then I whisked some butter until light colored and added icing sugar to it. I mixed well and used it to cost my green cake and then put the pink one on top.

My ribbon cake is ready and yummy. It was delicious.

What difficulties did you encounter while making this recipe?

I didn’t encounter any difficulties in the cake making. It was good and came out beautifully well. I simply used the procedure in the class and it was awesome.

Explain the importance of each of the ingredients you used in making this cake.

The ingredients used in making this cake had their various importance and they includes;

  • Flour: The flour is the ingredient that provides the Structure, the texture and also serves as the base for the cake.

  • Sugar: The sugar comes in handy as the agent of sweetness, it also makes for tenderness and the browning of the cake.

  • Egg: The egg is the binding agent. It helps to add richness, moisture and also has leavening properties.

  • Vanilla flavor: The vanilla flavor helps to enhance the general or overall aroma and flavor of the cake.

  • Butter: Butter helps to contribute moisture, makes the cake very tender and also gives flavor to the cake.

  • Baking powder: The baking powder is the leavening agent that helps the cake to rise well.

  • Pink and green computing: These colors served as ingredients that brought out the beauty of the cake by the colors combined. The cours have it the esthetic beauty.

  • Icing sugar mix: Helped to act as a binding agent for the two layers of the different cakes and also added extra flavor and sweetness to the cake.
