Zobo prep
Hi guys
Today I will be taking you on how I prep my zobo , and some items I used in preparation of my zobo juice .
Zobolo as the Northern Nigerians may call it is an Home made juice gotten from 🌺 hibiscus dry leaf, it leaf is commonly found in the northern state in Nigeria.
How I prep my zobo
Step 1
I carefully washed my pineapple and peal off it's skin , next I slice them into my desired sizes
Pineapple contains citrus and has a good fiber to help with detoxification however it's made my zobo very juicy
step 2
I also wash my zobo dry leaf to strain out it dust and dirt I use a plastic sieve to make it faster and easy thus select out dirt this process doesn't need to be repeated so many time in other not to wash away the hibiscus.
step 3
And so I Wash my cloves in a clean water.
Cloves are highly medicinal therefore, a considerable amount should be carefully selected depending on the amount of zobo you are making.
Step 4
I thoroughly wash my Ginger since I prefer not to peal of its skin I carefully did so repeatedly until it was clean before I processed to blend.
The quantity depends solely on individual however ginger can be very spicy in it test so people prone to very spicy teste should be careful on how much ginger they add to their zobo
step 5
Aidan fruit locally known in Calabar as uyakyak is very and highly recommended especially for zobo it's add so many essentials to your zobo juice, it's very safe for both male and female and even children, the flavour is so enticing it's mostly common here in Nigeria.
Step 6
Orange fruit wasn't left out I specifically added this to give it that fruity and juicy test as we know, oranges helps indigestion thus adding it to my zobo was everything for me.
Into my pot, I went in with all the items listed above at the same time , I cooked for 15 minutes to absorb properly . Then I put it down strain my juicy out and place for it to cool off , then proceed to pure it into my container before I did I pour in the orange and pineapple extracted earlier for a fruity test
Now I have my fresh zobo,
to enjoy it better I allowed it to be refrigerated before consumption
