Greetings, trusting you are good i would like to introduce you to my Abak soup recipe . Abak soup is a highly nutritional food mostly eaten by the Efiks and Akwaibomite here in Nigeria it's easy to make not capital intensive and thirdly serves time .here I am going to take you through the process and recipes to get in other to achieve your delicious Abak soup.
Abak soup recipes
- Palm fruit (oyiop)
- Atama leaf
- Stock fish
- Beef : Goat meat,/ cow intestine
- Smoked cart fish
- Periwinkle ( mffi)
- Crawfish ( obu)
- Pepper
- Season cubes
- Salt
- Water
- Aider
Steps
1 After washing your atama leaf and dry, slice into a size of your choice .
2 pound the atama leaf in a mortar while pounding, get your warm water ready to wash the atama leaf
3 wash the atam leaf in a warm water, reason is because atama leaf some times has a bitter taste therefore in other to get ready of it you carefully wash the leaf and teast while at it
4 strain your atama leaf after washing placed in a sieve for a while
5 wash your palm fruit and boil for ten minutes
6 take out the palm fruit and pound in a mortar until it peels off from it shell
7 use either warm or coold water to wash for me I prefer the cool water
8 seive out the shaft and set it aside
9, prep your protein and steam for five minutes,add your spices and seasoning cube to taste .
10 Get your ingredients ready
Now you're ready to cook
First go in with your already steamed protein including the stock fish ,turn in your abak water that's the already sieve Palm fruit water , add in your periwinkle ,add your seasoning cubes again including the Aider stem, place on fire to Cook .
After adding all your ingredients
Go in with your strained atama leaf and stir by now your Abak soup is ready it's best paired with swallow of your choice either fufu or garri etc.Hope you have learned how to prep Abak soup on your own and I trust you'd like to give it give it a try.
