Hello steemians,

As the Steem Atlas Ambassador for Africa, I’m kicking off Week #3 of our weekly challenge to map the Africa we actually live in — our markets & cafés, beaches & hikes, workshops, murals, festivals, campuses, street food corners, and the everyday places that make our cities and villages special.

Every valid post adds a precise pin to the map and helps travelers, students, entrepreneurs, and locals find verified, useful info: how to get there, what it costs, when to go, and how to stay safe.

This isn’t a photo drop. Together we’re building a useful, verified layer of African knowledge on the blockchain with your words, your images, your coordinates. Weekly prize pool 50 STEEM (25 / 15 / 10). Add a short original video or discover new spots for bonus points.

An interactive world map powered by the Steem blockchain. Each post is geolocated and appears exactly where the place is.

Who can join?
Anyone posting African places, from big landmarks to everyday local spots. Newcomers welcome.

Weekly from Wednesday 00:00 UTC to Tuesday 23:59 UTC

Week #3 window: Wed, Oct 8, 2025 00:00 UTC → Tue, Oct 14, 2025 23:59 UTC

How to publish a Steem Atlas post

Option 1: Direct on Steem Atlas (Create Post)
Open https://steematlas.com/ → Create Post. Place the pin on the exact spot or use current location. In “Pin description”, enter place name + city only. Write your post, add tags (steem-atlas, atlasafrica, country tag), set rewards and add @steem-atlas as beneficiary 5–10%.

Option 2: Via Steemit.com (Embed Pin)
Write on steemit.com. In another tab open https://steematlas.com/ → Embed Pin, place and name the pin, copy the code, paste it at the end of your post. Do not change latitude or longitude.

How winners are chosen

Ranking = number of qualified posts you publish in the window
Ties → higher average score, then diversity of places, then video bonus

A qualified post includes

≥ 400 words with 4–10 original photos and captions
Exact, verifiable pin
Useful info: access, prices, hours, best time, safety, contacts
Clear structure with one local tip
Correct tags #atlasafrica #steem-atlas #country
Recommended: @steem-atlas as beneficiary 5–10%
No AI, no plagiarism, no stock
