Prasad - The Fashion Square, Matara

Prasad Fashion Square is one of the prominent and popular retail shops in Sri Lanka, specializing in the Fashion sector. It opened in 2015 and now has four branches in very busy towns in the country: Homagama, Kottawa, Matara, and Eheliyagoda.

You know people love to fulfill all their needs in one place, which is affordable, with high-quality materials, in a cozy setting. That's what this place gives us, with all the fashion needs of the whole family! So, let's see what it has in the Matara Branch!

The Location

Matara town is known to be a crowded destination with both locals and tourists. Prasad fashion store is in the heart of it, just near the A2 Highway (Colombo-Hambanthota), 250m away from Nupe Junction, and 2.5km away from the Matara Bus stand. This location is always strategic, and having a shop in this neighborhood is always a victory for the owners.

It's a 6-story building with a unique design. There are two separate doors for the entrance and the exit for convenience. And in front of and behind the building, there are adequate spaces for parking for free. Before entering the premises, we have to keep the bags on the counter as a safety policy and take a token. There's a nice lady to assist with the services.

Floor Directory

Well, as this is a huge shop with many facilities, we can see the floor-wise arrangement notice boards. It's convenient for the customers.

Ground Floor - Cosmetics, Jewelry, Watch, Stationery, Home & Gift, Cashier
1st Floor - Men's Wear
2nd Floor - Kids Wear
3rd & 4th - For the Ladies

So, as you can see, it's more than a clothing store; it has many fashion items for men, women, and children, and household items as well. You can either use the staircase or the lift to travel to each floor to explore these items.

The Ground Floor

When we enter the ground floor, we can see the welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. There we can see many useful items.

Travelling bags are organized in one corner along with the school bags for the kids as well. Travelling bags are priced well above Rs. 10,000 (30 Dollars), and other normal bags can be purchased from Rs. .2,000 (6.5$) - Rs. 5000 (17$). And also we can see stationary items for kids like water bottles in many varieties, Lunch boxes, etc. Most of them are around or less than Rs 1000 (3$).

You will love the huge doll collection of different colours and sizes. The household, decor items, and gift items area is a plus point here. Because Plastic, Aluminium, and Glass items especially for kitchen use attract the customers to buy everything in one place. Not only that, expensive things like Watches, jewelry, sunglasses, cosmetic items and beauty products for face, body, hair, perfumes, makeups, etc.

The Men's Wear

This is what I loved the most. An entire section just for men. It has a huge collection of casual wear as well as office attire. The arrangement is so organized, with casual shirts and T-shirts hanging in hangers throughout the floors in different sizes and colours. We have space and facilities to choose them easily. There are denims, sarongs, shorts, sports wear, Hats, shoes, belts, undergarments, and everything.

And also the office wear section with Shirts in quality brands like Emerald, Governors, etc, are neatly kept with better visuals. Well, I bought a White colour Shirt, and a collarless T-shirt for Rs. 4500 (15$) and it was a good deal.

The Kiddy Section

Well, the elevator door is decorated with beautiful kiddie images, and the entire floor looks like heaven. There is a range of items suitable for infants, toddlers, and older children in different age groups. Apart from clothing, footwear, and bags are also available here.

The Ladies Section

There are two floors dedicated to ladies. It's still not enough for them😁😅. There is a selection of dresses of Casual, formal, and traditional styles, including Tops(blouses, T-shirts), bottoms( skirts, trousers, and jeans), frocks, sarees, Nightwear, undergarments, Footwear, Handbags, etc.

As you can see, there's a huge collection of different colours, sizes, and new designs.

Overall Experience

So, it's one of the best Fashion stores in the Matara area. First of all, the location, the arrangement, and the ambiance of the place are excellent. The lighting arrangement and the A/C condition are adequate, and we can feel it from the first second. We set foot in the store.

The staff is very friendly and assists immediately, and they know their job well. They always keep the place tidy, and with their clothing setting, it's very easy for the customers to choose and select their preferences. And there are high-quality materials, in the newest trends, with a big collection for affordable prices.

There are enough piton rooms on each floor, and there are washroom facilities, drinking water on the ground floor.

So, overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone.
