I went for a walk to eat watermelon. I saw how farmers here grow and sell watermelons.

According to the weather of Bangladesh, the time from January to April is generally suitable for watermelon cultivation. There are also some early varieties which can be sown till November-December. However, the best time for sowing seeds is from the end of January to the first half of February. Loam that does not accumulate water sandy loam soil. Correct time for sowing seeds. The end of January to the first half of February is the best.

However, seeds can be sown in the months of January, May and September. 4-5 seeds can be sown per hole. 8-10 days before sowing seeds, the hole should be prepared and fertilizer should be mixed in the soil. The holes should be made 2 meters apart and 2 meters apart in each row. Each hole should generally be 50 cm. wide and 30 cm. deep. After the seedlings grow, it is better to leave two seedlings in each hole and remove the rest.

Watermelons do not ripen after harvest and should be left on the vine until fully ripe. Signs of ripening include: The area where the fruit touches the ground becomes more pronounced and changes color (usually yellow). The stalk closest to the fruit turns brown and dries out.

This is how watermelons are planted in the field. They grow slowly in the field. Some watermelons grow very large, while others ripen small.Some watermelons are spoiled before they grow and ripen.

Traders come from different districts of the country to buy watermelons. They buy from farmers at a fair price. They transport them from the fields to the market by truck.Traders buy watermelons from farmers at average sizes and average prices. In the market, they separate them into different sizes and sell them according to different sizes.
