SC-S24W3: Cartoons

Drawing is not just what one sees, but what one makes others to see.

I sometimes think there's nothing so delightful as drawing. I am begining to enjoy drawing, it used to be difficult for me but as I progress, I get better.

So let's start up the processes...

Materials

• A Pencil
• An Eraser
• A White Paper

Step 1

Using my pencil, I sketched the round face leaving a space between the ear and the hair, the eye and the mouth.

I went further to sketch the big eyes, the long nose, ear and the hair. The mouth looked funny and was a bit difficult to sketch, so I used some dots to follow the process and afterwards, I was able to sketch it out.

Step 2

Here, I started making it visible. From the round face to the eyes, ear, mouth and hair. I made the lines bold enough to give the drawing a projecting look. Without these visible lines, you'd probably won't have a clear picture of my cartoon, so making it visible helps.

Step 3

This is the shading part. I started with the nose because it's just faint not so thick. I made the bottom nose a bit thick because it is bold and then the upper part a little lighter to fit the skin.

I proceeded to the hair to give it a dark shade, normally, hair is usually dark so it looked appealing to the eyes. Then the mouth was also shaded lightly, leaving the teeth which is white color. Some part of the ear was shaded and the eye balls and brows were fixed to give it a nice touch and outlook.

Step 4

I gave it a base shade. From the ear part to the hair and around the eye was shaded lightly just to look like a skin. This finally gave it a real cartoon look.

Step 5

I finally cleaned the dirty part that were not necessary. Added my username and date as instructed by the teacher.
