Agricultural Story #16
Greetings my dear friends of Steemit and Steem-Agro

Once, a long time ago, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were having a conversation about the importance of food in sustaining life. Lord Shiva, who often preached about the illusion of the material world (Maya), claimed that food was just an illusion. He argued that everything in the world was an illusion, and that there was no real need for food to sustain life.
Hearing this, Goddess Parvati was concerned because she knew the truth-that food is essential for survival and that it is a divine gift that nourishes all beings. To teach Lord Shiva the significance of food and the act of giving, she decided to show him its true value. In response to Shiva's claim, Goddess Parvati disappeared from the world. When she vanished, the whole world began to suffer from famine and hunger. There was no food to be found anywhere, and the people were starving. The earth became barren, crops failed, and there was widespread suffering.
Without Goddess Parvati, who is the embodiment of nourishment, even Lord Shiva realized the importance of food. He understood that life cannot exist without sustenance, and his belief that food was an illusion was proven wrong.
Feeling remorseful and realizing the crucial role of food, Lord Shiva went in search of Goddess Parvati to ask for forgiveness and bring her back to the world. He wandered through the forests and mountains, pleading with her to return and restore the world's nourishment.
Finally, Goddess Parvati took the form of Annapurna Devi, the goddess of food and nourishment. She appeared in the holy city of Kashi (now known as Varanasi), holding a golden pot of food in one hand and a ladle in the other. She began distributing food to the hungry and suffering people, providing them with the nourishment they desperately needed.
When Lord Shiva found her in Kashi, he humbly approached her with an empty bowl in his hands, symbolizing his realization of the importance of food. He acknowledged that food is not an illusion but a vital force that sustains all life on earth. In response, Annapurna Devi filled his bowl with food, signifying that food is divine and should be respected.
From then on, Lord Shiva and the world recognized the importance of Goddess Annapurna, who provides food to all beings. The people of Kashi, where she is worshipped as the presiding deity, celebrate her generosity and grace, knowing that she ensures no one goes hungry.
This year, Annapurna Puja 2025 was observed on Saturday, 5 April 2025. According to the Bengali calendar, it fell on 22nd Chaitra.
Before I conclude I would like to invite three fellow Steemians to participate in the contest
