Cassava is one of the most high-demand crops in Nigeria, where farmers use it to produce different varieties of food products such as garri, fufu, and tapioca. Farmers invest massively in this business in order to earn good profit in return, it is one of the reliable crops they can engage in because market price always favour the farmers. Cassava is a tuber or root vegetable that we consume on a daily basis, particularly in Nigeria and the rest of the country. Nigeria is among the top countries that plant cassava, and they even export it to other countries to make use of it.

Although there are varieties of cassava, we have sweet and bitter cassava. The sweetest one can be found in the United States of America, where they use it to produce food that consumers eat in their country. Cassava roots are used to produce starch in my country, which we use to apply to our clothes that we wear to different occasions such as weddings, naming ceremonies, and graduations of our children.

It's important to cook cassava before eating as raw cassava can be dangerous to our health. Dried cassava is ground to make Lafun flour. This process usually takes about three days because you need to soak it in water to ferment and reduce harmful chemicals. After that, you remove the peel and dry the cassava under the sun. It tastes nice when eaten as swallowed with okra soup. Vitamin C in cassava helps protect our skin from damage and builds a strong immune system against infections.

Thanks for taking your time to read my post and I would like to invite @josepha, @chant and @goodybest to participate in this contest.

Thanks for reading through my post

Your post on cassava highlights its importance as a high-demand crop in Nigeria and with various uses and benefits I think the distinction between sweet and bitter cassava is interesting, as well as its exportation to other countries and also the process of producing Lafun flour from dried cassava is also notable...wish you all the best 👌.

It's type of food that's love by all. Especially in southwestern part of the country where it turn into cassava flour for the benefits of mankind. Cassava peel are also use to feed animals once it goes through drying process. It serve as carbohydrate for animals who eat dried cassava peel in order to gain more energy and strength. I really appreciate your comment
