Hidden Gems

Hi there!.

We are back to season 25 w3 of the Steemit learning challenge Which is part of the weekly activities carried out on the Steemit platform. This time around we have a new topic to discuss with which is a hidden gems in movies.

Of course there's a lot to discuss about this topic, as most movies have the portrays the highest plots but sometimes are not often recognized as often they should be, or rather to say are not given the credit they actually deserved. Sometimes most people don't actually recognize these movies actually exist. Thanks to exercises like this, we are opportune to point out some of these hidden gems which are often neglected.

To discover a more in-depth of this raised topic, we are first of all going to look at a general overview of what hidden gems are and then we work with some guidelines in order to Give you the best of what you have been missing out on.

A Hidden gem [movie context]

A Hidden gem is a movie which is critically acclaimed, not widespread which often overlooked by the mainstream audience. This type of movies often suffer lesser recognition, less publication and equally or less successful in commercials sales. That is to say these type of movies just flew under the radar And are often discovered by words of mouths. However, there may be some reasons which make these movies to fall in these categories. We shall see that as we proceed in the context.

Mention 5 lesser-known or underrated movie you have seen before

There's a ton of movies which have fallen in the category of hidden gems, but among these movies here are the five top most underrated movies in my own perspective.

In order to give us a wider understanding and have an idea of what each of these movies is all about, I am going to drop a trailer and a plot summary of each so that you can have an idea of what the movie entails to prevail.

1. The Banker.[2020]

Trailer

The banker is a movie based on a real life story of a young black entrepreneur in the 1960s. With growing insurgency Back at the time, there was this problem of acquisition of worth and color variant. The white were thought to be the rich while the black community weren't so opportune. To make a change, he came out with the brilliant idea starting of a business with a loan he got from one of his Partners who was white, and thereby get a young white male and train him business to pose us the face of his businesses skipping the racist barrier back at the time. From a good point of view these more videos ahead to limits the gap for color and racism.

2. The fall[2006]

Trailer

This is a storyline about a silence film in the 1920s Who had an accident and was later admitted in a hospital. While serving his time at the hospital, he use the opportunity to tell a young girl a story which in his imagination started to blur the line between fantasy And reality. It's quite interesting and I recommend it's a must watch movie.

Primer[2004]

Trailer

The Primmer. A sci-fi movie released in 2004 is a plot featuring two engineers who exploring their science journey, accidentally invented a time machine. Possible of traveling through various time loops in different intervals. Initially they plan to keep this machine for themselves, that is personal use. Also scared about messing about the environment. This machine became more recognized As they try to use it to generate worth.

4. Love and disasters [2006].

Trailer

This is a plot related to a young girl working at the British vogue at the time. Who is much more obsessed with playing matchmaker for her friends. However, deep inside she has a big problem, which was actually finding love for herself. It's a bit of a way of how modern relationships work this time around as we are so much in fixing others lives, and rather neglecting our own problems. It's a bit of an eye opener and I recommended most watch.

Red planet. [2000]

Trailer

Due to strong ecological problems and vast depletion of the Earth's natural resources, scientists began figuring out ways in which they could find life on other planets. The quest for Mars was on the table. However, a robot is sent with atmosphere breathing algae To determine if Mars is habitable. Sometime later, the algae is dead And a robot was not responding equally. This time a space crew is sent to Mars to go and check out what actually happened that led to the destruction of these prototypes. However, upon reaching The orbit, a giant gamma ray stroke the spaceship with which let them crash landing. Fast forward, one of them took off the helmet in order to commit murder as they had no no hopes of returning to Earth, but to his greatest surprise, he discovered there is plenty more oxygen on the surface of mars.

Discuss your reasons for saying these movies you have mentioned are lesser known or underrated movies.

  • The first thing which makes these films much more Underrated is affiliated to their compelling story lines. These movies are well crafted drama plot twist and watching this, one could easily feel the virtue of reality into existence.

  • another point to support my argument on the neglect of this films are the actors involved. They clearly perform there role so much accurate that one could actually feels that it is real Whereas it is just a fiction story. I really enjoyed it so much especially in the case of the Primmer and the banker.

  • Despite the outstanding performance, they were still a problem of marketing. These movies did not actually reach the top radar for Market recognition and equally didn't sold out as they normally showed based on the quality of the movie delivered. However there are some arguments on negative reviews but from my own perspective I think they deserve their flowers.

  • Okay, like working on things which are more educative to us humans, there are a lot of storylines which would actually shift our ideas and thinking. However these movies especially the primer deep directly into the human scope of today which entails us actually trying to fix others forgetting to fix ourselves. It's just such a big red flag of which we must a evade from and fix ourselves.

What do you think can be done to make these movies better known or valued more

There are a key factors which can be implemented in place to make such good but underrated movies recognizable. We are going to list them categorically as follows.

  • First producers must identify the target audience, this can be the fans, people interested in a particular genre, theme.. and connects them with these type of movies.

  • Another strong point is to use recognize social media tools, such as streaming, producing trailers and equally making behind the scene shots which viewers can interact with more easily. Equally producers should use appropriate tags to make these movies easily accessible

  • Right now another strategy which is being used by musicians and movie producers is collaborating with influencers and holding talk shows on their movies. This is like in the case of word to mouth and making their movies known to a wider audience through the chats.

A good example explained. In order to sell more tickets at the opening of the FIFA club World cup, infantino decided to collaborated one of the YouTubers based in the United States "Ishowspeed", through his streaming platform, more people get to know about the FIFA club World cup and equally purchase their tickets along the way. It is helping and every domain should adopt it.

  • On my last point, for a film already facing downgrade is that they should be able to focus on the strength of the film. This is to make the viewers or the audience have a clear picture of why this movie is outstanding. Using a strong team could also boost the movies productivity.

In conclusion, it is quite amazing to watch interesting movies getting up with higher perspective but finding out they are not actually getting the credit they deserve. It happens, due to some factors or the other but based on some of the suggestions, I think this could go a long way to push up some movies above the radar.

Quite an interesting exercise I won't stop here without inviting the following people to participate alongside with me in this amazing challenge.

I’ve seen The Banker and I completely agree — it’s such a powerful film that highlights a very important part of history that’s rarely told. I loved how it tackled race, business, and resilience with such depth. The other movies you mentioned sound equally thought-provoking, especially Primer and The Fall. Thanks for sharing these hidden gems and reminding us that not every great movie needs to be loud to be legendary. 🎬👏
