Is Poverty Man-made or Life Happens?
Imagine this scenario: Isaac grows up in a poor family who could not afford his basic needs. They live in the street, and they could not afford even some nice clothes to wear. They barely had a meal as they have to beg in the street. What would you say about Isaac's condition? Is it man-made or life happens (he was born to be like that). Let's look into some of the questions and how we can differentiate between poverty and being out of fund.
Is poverty and not having money the same thing? Explain:
Let's look into what poverty really means. When defining poverty, there are 3 different points that should not be missing in the meaning. The point are:
Lack of clothing
Lack of food
Lack of shelter
So when we talk about someone going through poverty it means that the person could not or cannot afford food to eat which is very important to human to survived, couldn't afford a place to lay down his head(we can also refer it as shelter to protect him from rain at night and sun during the day), he also could not afford cloth to cover his nakedness.
Let us consider the opposite: someone not having money. When there is food, clothing and accommodations or shelter but no money at the moment, it is not poverty; it means that the person is not financially stable. The person that does not have money might have food to eat for the day, he has a house to rest and night, and in some cases.......you surely see that in expensive dress.
What am I trying to say? My point is that poverty is different from not having money as someone who doesn't have money now can still afford other basic needs.
Do you think poverty is Man-made or situations in life make it happen? Mention 2 main causes of poverty in your country.
I watched several life inspiration quotes, and one of the quotes you will like to see is about being patient, life is this.....life is that, wait for your time, etc. I am not against it as I strongly support it. But come to think of it when talking about poverty many people will like to point hand to some particular set of people (the government) as it is their duty to make like favorable and easy to the citizens.
But before that let reason this together, is it possible for some to the reason behind why his poor? I guess you will likely to say yes is not? Sometimes we are the one that causes problems to our self, in what way? Let assume a child growing up and the parents area advising him to plan his future in other to know how to deal with life problems in the future. They sent him to school, but he did not concentrate, or he dropped out of school, they sent him to learn hand work, but he loses focus on it. Why because he had parents, and he has been eating and everything is needed is been provided to him. After many years his parents died leaving only the house behind, you know what he did? He sold the house but instead of him to invest use it to so something meaningful to him, he lavish it and soon after he went back to square one. Who would you say it the cause?
Secondly, a woman is a business and she sells to provide for his family. Unfortunately one day, fire broke out and burned down a goods in the store. The worst part of it is that she took some loan to run the business, but it all vanished in a day. The business was her only way of survival, and she could no longer afford her family basis need. This is the type of poverty whereby the situation in life make it happen.*
Now back to the cause of poverty in Nigeria. I will not be pointing hand at anybody, but I will state the fact behind it. In Nigeria some of the major causes of poverty are:
Lack of education: many people could not avoid the educational needs. Imagine the cases whereby it called free education, but you will find out that even before you are admitted you still need some fund so what is free about it. The government has done some part in many in easier for people to go to school, but we have corrupt people who hijacked it for their personal use. That is point 1.
Lack of employment: when someone loses or could not get a Job it is also leaded to poverty. For example in Nigeria citizen have been complaining as they cannot secure a Job even after going through high school.
Give a life experience to justify that poverty is either man-made or situations in life cause it.
I talked about the woman who lost her business to fire and could not afford her family needs. This was her source of income, but it vanished in a day, leaving her with nothing. This is good example of poverty cause by the situation in life (fire outbreak)
I also mentioned a child who was inactive and so dependent in his parents until they passed away, and he was left with nothing except the family house. Instead of him to plan his next step, he sold the house and lavished the money. At last, he ended up with nothing. This is a man-made poverty as the person is the downfall of it.
Someone refuses to scam people to make a fortune and elevate himself from poverty. Will you say the person is the reason he is still poor, or will you say he is content with the poverty? Justify your answer.
You know one thing about scamming people? One they will lose everyone. We have several top scammers, but now nobody remembers them. Back then, they were trending on social media, living an expensive lifestyle until when they were arrested and everything was taken from them. So is the gain in it; a 5 minutes of happiness. Scamming people only makes someone rich just for a while as sonnet, or later he will pay the consequences. But been contented isn't best life ever.
Been contented make you a happy person as a free individual but the scammers live a hiding life as their freedom can be cut short at any moment. Being contented is Knowing your limit and been happy with what you could afford. So back to the question, the Person is not the reason behind been poor because:
❎He might decided to scam people, live a wealthy life but later got arrested thereby lossing everything and his reputation.
❎The time he could have used to do something valuable to him he will waste it in the prison or sometimes been killed.
So anybody that is thinking that "yahoo" is the only way to make it in this life, he should bury that thoughts. What you'll like someone to do to you do it to others. Instead of that think about what you can do to elevate yourself, something legally, online or offline. Don't do something that would make you sleepy with one open😂
What do you have say? Let's hear from @wakeupkitty,@megareigns @cicisaja and @caringmanasseh. Thank you.

Poverty is always men-made. We feel poor if we don't have a smartphone, no computer, no shoes new dress for a wedding or gold to give to the bride or to the grooms family.
Jobs
If there are more people than jobs this means there are too many people. Ever thought about that? Having more children will not solve the problem of poverty. How should those children be fed, dressed and get old enough to provide in the needs of parents/sibling if there are no jobs and everyone is too lazy to be a farmer because the went through highschool? Is highschool that special you deserve a job?
If parents keep taking children you are a dumbarse if you cannot provide in their needs. Why should others, families, the government or even foreigners giving aid?
Do you have any idea where the money should come from if you want to help fight poverty since if it comes to it people are never satisfied and even dare to say that they have the right to receive everything for free. I see a lot of dissatisfaction in my country although those who lived on the streets receive more thatn those who work hard and pay taxes By now one worker has to keep 3-5 families alive, big families, a family they can't have themselves.
Fighting poverty is not as easy as it seems. If you want a better life you better think before you act. Work, save and don't get married if there are no savings. Living in poverty with children is a burden.
By the way I find it remarkable how many state they cannot buy food but do have a smartphone and at times way more luxury than I have. It's a question of priority, what is it you want for yourself and your future. Better work that out first before you start a family which comes with a lot of responsibilities.
Your example of the son is a good one: men made - is it stupidity that he sells the roof above his head instead of making an income with it?
The lady with the shop: how did that fire start? If you ask me that one is men made too unless the fire is causes by the electricity wires of the city or causes by the lighting but also she didn't think ahead and was prepared for in case of need. If you start a business you should.
So my conclusion is: it's all men made and measured by he standards set by a community and having no food is no direct reason to state a person is poor.
Poverty is in most cases the result of a poor policy, a lack of thinkting/brains and it would be good if school would teach awareness and make people save for the future and in case of need instead of living by the day.
Are there exceptions? Of course, wars (also men made).
Honestly, poverty to me is man made, we all have the power to atleast change our situations like others did but the willingness to pay the price is what holds other people down.
i agree with every other point of yours, best of luck to you my friend.
