Hi steemians in Steem4Nigeria my name is @maxub from Nigeria this is my entry on this beautiful contest by @ninapenda

Introduction

Money. It’s a five-letter word that can either build empires or break families. Growing up, I heard both extremes: “Money is the root of all evil” and “Money answers all things.” As I grew older, I realized money itself isn't evil or divine; it's neutral. It's how we chase, use, and value it that shapes its impact on our lives.

💵 What is your option about working hard and working smart?

💼 Working Hard vs. Working Smart

I’ve seen both ends of the spectrum. Some people work from sunrise to midnight, breaking their backs for pennies, while others, with the right systems in place, earn more while resting. So, which matters more working hard or working smart?

To me, working smart is the key. Hard work is important, yes but without strategy, it's like trying to fill a bucket with holes( basket). Working smart means understanding where to put your energy, leveraging skills, technology, and connections to achieve more in less time. Hard work opens the door, but smart work builds the mansion.

💵 Why do you think money answers to all things?

💬 Does Money Really Answer All Things?

I used to think this phrase was just materialistic fluff until adult hood caught up with me and i had to pay rent, hospital bills, and send money to family. It hit me: while money doesn’t guarantee happiness, it gives you options. Options for good healthcare, better education, a safer home, and even peace of mind.

Money answers to real-life needs. Try telling a hungry family that “money doesn’t matter.” Try preaching "money can't buy happiness" to someone who can’t afford medication. While it can't buy love or time, money absolutely provides freedom and opportunity.

💵 There are people who believe that one day they would become rich without them having a laid down plans to get the money, what's your take on that?

🌟 The “One Day” Dreamers

There’s a trend people claiming they’ll be rich “one day” but have no plan, no discipline, no budget, and no learning habits. I call it “wishful thinking dressed as ambition.”

Dreaming without action is just fantasy. Wealth doesn't fall from the sky; it’s built brick by brick with discipline, patience, and direction. I’m all for dreaming big, but if there’s no vision board, no investment plan, no skills being learned then the dream is just a bedtime story.

I believe in sowing before reaping. You want wealth? Learn about money. Save. Invest. Budget. Grow. If you treat money casually, you’ll end up broke seriously.

💵 Would you rather die chasing money? Explain your choice.

⚖️ Would I Die Chasing Money?
Absolutely not.

Let me be clear

I will chase purpose, passion, and peace, and if money comes along as a result, great. But I won’t trade my health, relationships, or integrity on the altar of money.

I’ve seen people lose themselves chasing wealth missing birthdays, divorcing spouses, lying, stealing, and even dying. For what? A bigger car? A louder status? I want money, yes but I want a full life more.

So no, I won’t die chasing money.

Instead, I’ll live learning how to master it, so it serves me and not the other way around.

Conclusion: My Money Mindset

My money mindset is simple: money is a tool, not a god. It can build or destroy, depending on who holds it. I strive to work smart, plan wisely, and earn with integrity. I won’t rely on luck. I won’t sacrifice my soul. I’ll respect money, but never worship it.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about being rich it’s about being free.
