Presentation of Certificate of Training to my Trainee [09-07-2025]
This morning was another milestone of achievement as I gladly presentation a certificate of a successful and intensive training to one of my apprentice who had jus completed his training.
Menyene Edet Usua is a young boy of about sixteen years, who held from Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. When he came to register for three months training some months ago, I took time to explain to his understanding what Microsoft Suites and Graphic Design is all about. I also added that the three months might not be enough for him to get to know all about the packages he registered for, though I let him know that his seriousness, commitment and concentration will determine his level of achievement in the training at the end of the training period.
THE TRAINING PERIOD
I started the training with Menyene on 25th February, 2025 and his three months training lasted till 25th May, 2025. When the training period elapsed about two months ago, Menyene approached me and pleaded that he would love to extend for at least one month but he doesn't have money to pay for the additional time.
Before the end of the training period, Menyene's obedience, humbleness, submissiveness and good manners had already qualified him to work with me for as long as he wishes. I must confess that ever since I started training people, Menyene is one of the best students I ever had. He's not only intelligent but obedient in all ramifications. I gave him go ahead to stay with me and learn more for as long as he wishes.
When he told me on Friday, 4th July about his plans to leave to go and continue with his life, I had mix feelings, I knew I would miss him so much, but I can't hold him down, I had to let him go and make a living as a grown up man.
PRESENTATION OF THE CERTIFICATE
Before I presented the Certificate to him, I first thanked him for his manners, obedience, faithfulness and diligent to the work. Menyene has learned a lot in this period. I'm impressed and will always be proud of him, he used barely five months to learn what some 3 years trainees couldn't learn. I encouraged him to keep being a good gentleman that he is. I then prayed for him and handed over the certificate to him.
HIS RESPONSE
Menyene, in his response shared a tears of joy while smiling at the same time. He expressed his happiness and appreciation for my kind heartedness. According to him "you are more than a Boss, you are my elder Brother". Your simplicity, caring and good relationship with your apprentices showed that there are some people who don't take life as a very big deal as some people do, he added.
While praying for God to continue to bless me, he confessed that his initial plan for the training was to have basic knowledge of computer to help him write the just concluded computer based Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examinations, but what he has achieved is far beyond his expectations courtesy of my good mentorship.
He said he didn't believe that he could reach the level his is currently in Microsoft Suites and explore CorelDraw to the extent of creating and making good designs in the short period of his training. "Boss I'll live to remember you, I don't have much to say but may God bless you", he summarised.
I'm grateful that I've been able to use my platform for transfer the God's given knowledge and experience to the next generation. My advice to the Bosses our there is not to under estimate human beings, be it your servant, apprentice or maid. Know one knows tomorrow, a little boy you see today might become a great man tomorrow. Just be kind to people whenever you have the opportunity.
Thank you for going through my post. Do have a great time ahead.
