My visit to a neighbor and a warm welcome by the children. [Creative Writing]

in Steem4Nigeria29 days ago

As I walked up the path to my neighbor's house, I could hear the sound of laughter and chatter coming from inside. I knocked on the door, and it was immediately flung open by a bundle of energy - my neighbor's grand children, Timmy. "Uncle's here! Uncle's here!" Timmy squealed, tugging on my hand and giving me sit at the veranda.

I was greeted by a chorus of cheers and smiles from the other children, who were all gathered around their grandmother at the veranda, watching videos from phone. There were the twins, Olivia and Ubong, who were giggling and playing as they watch the video, Uduakobong and Moses came to ply with me.

My neighbor, Mrs. Johnson, smiled warmly at me and left the phone for her grandchildren then gave me and @udoikotabasi full attention. "Ah, perfect timing! I was just making some lemonade in the shop. Would you guys like a glass?"

We accepted gratefully and took a seat on the veranda, surrounded by the happy chaos of the children. They all clamored for our attention while they continued playing around with their toys and games. As we spent the afternoon together, I was struck by the warmth and love that filled the Johnson household. The children were all so happy and carefree, and it was clear that they adored their parents and each other.

At one point, Ubong turned to us and said, "We're so glad you came to visit, Uncle. You people always make us laugh." I smiled, feeling grateful for the opportunity to spend time with such wonderful children. "I'm glad I could come" I said. "You all make me feel like part of the family."

As the afternoon drew to a close, Mrs. Johnson called out that it was time for the children to start getting ready for bed. The kids all groaned good-naturedly, but eventually began to say their goodbyes and head off to their rooms.

As I stood up to leave, Mrs. Johnson put a hand on my arm. "Thank you for coming over today," she said. "The children love spending time with you. You have a way of making them feel special." I smiled, feeling a sense of joy and contentment. "They're special kids" I said. "I'm lucky to have them as neighbors and friends."

Thank you for going through my post. Do have a great time ahead.
