Have you ever been caught telling a lie? If yes, can you recall some of those lies and how it affected you positively or negatively?

Yes, it happened once.My college friend, who now studies in a different university, made a plan to go out for lunch with some friends. At that time, I was going through some emotional struggles and didn't want to socialize or meet anyone.

They insisted that I should also come, but I made an excuse and told them that my uncle had come from another country and was staying at our house, so I couldn't go out with them.

I also lied that I was on leave from university because I was spending time with my uncle.
But actually, my uncle hadn’t arived yet, and I had to attend university normaly. One day, one of my other friends saw me at the university and informed the friend to whom I had lied.

I felt very embarassed after getting caught.I tried to explain to my friend that I had to go to university for some urgent work, but mostly I was on leave.Still, I felt bad about lying. My friend was a little upset with me for a while, but later she understood and forgave me.

Does it pay to lie? Are deceitful jokes considered as lies?

Lying may seem to give us some benefit at the moment, but most of the time, it ends up causing harm. When you lie, and if you get caught, trust gets broken. People won’t believe you anymore, and it’s hard to rebuild that trust.

At first, it feels like lying helps us get out of a tough situation, but if we get caeught or if someone starts to doubt us, it can make things much worse. This can create problems in ourr relationships and friendships.

Sometimes, we lie to make someone happy or to keep their feelings safe. For example, we might say something nice to avoid hurting someone’s feelings. But if they later find out the truth, they’ll feel worse, and it will hurt them even more.

As for jokes, sometimes we make funny or light hearted comments, but if we’re joking around with friends and it doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings, then it's okay. However, we shoulldn’t joke in a way that could hurt someone's feelings or offend them.

Some jokes might involve lies, but they can still be fun if everyone understands it's just a joke and no one gets hurt.

Tell us your experience — The Lie that Saved you

One day, my university planned a trip to the northern areas, and everyone in my class was excited. It sounded like an amazing experience the mountains, the lakes, the fresh air , everything. But the problem was, they gave us very little time to come up with the money for the trip.

At that time, my family was going through financial struggles, and there were a lot of other stressful things happening too. I knew deep down that I couldn’t afford it, no matter how much I tried.

The next day, my friends came to me, trying to convince me to join the trip. They asked, "Why don’t you come? It’s going to be so much fun." But I couldn’t tell them the truth. I couldn’t tell them that I couldn’t afford it.

Instead, I told them, “I have to attend a very important family function, so I won’t be able to join.” The truth was, there was no family function. I just made up the excuse because I didn’t want to feel embarrassed in front of everyone.

That day, after I told the lie, I went to my room, feeling sad. I love traveling, and I really wanted to go on that trip. But I convinced myself that protecting my dignity was more important than explaining my situation. I stayed in bed, upset about missing the trip, but also relieved that I didn’t have to explain everything to my friends.

The lie saved me from uncomfortable questions, but it didn’t make me feel any better. It taught me that sometimes, we lie to protect ourselves from pain. But those lies don’t always feel right. After some time, I realized that it would’ve been better to simply say, "I can’t join" instead of making up an excuse.

A woman told a customer that the price of a product is worth 100 steems whereas the price of that product is 80 steems, is she lying or doing business?

According to my perspective, yes, this is lying, even if it’s happening in business. If a woman tells a customer that the price of a product is 100 steems when the actual price is only 80 steems, she’s deceiving the customer.

In today’s world, many businesses do this kind of thing, trying to make more profit by overpricing products. However, it’s better for businesses to offer afforddable products that benefit both the customer and the business. Inflating the price of a products is unfair, and customers can feel cheated when they find out the actual price.

While some businesses may succeed in the short term by tricking customers, over time, the customers lose trust in thm. People usually prefer to shop from places where they feel they’re getting good value for their money.

So, when thorse businesses keep increasing prices dishonestly, it damages their reputation, and customers may look for alternatives where they can find better deals.

That's it from today’s blog. I hope you liked it. With best wishes. Now I would like to invite:
