The Lie that Saved Me

Have you ever been caught telling a lie? If yes, can you recall some of those lies and how it affected you positively or negatively?

Have I ever been caught telling lies?
Yes
It affected me positively because I needed money from my parent as a student
Had to lie that I want to use it for textbooks that wasn't needed as of that time
So it kind of like saved me from financial strike.
I do that when I want money from my dad.
The question is what do I really need this money for, that makes me to lie to get it?
Answer to this:
I started a small petty business as a student.
So I use it to establish my business.

Does it pay to lie? Are deceitful jokes considered as lies?

My answer to this is:for me it pays,
It depends on the kind of lie.
But it doesn't mean you should form it as a habit because it might term to give you a bad name in the nearest future, it's not advisable to lie, yes, it isn't,
When necessary it should, I don't mean all time, to lie in a positive way is more advisable, should Incase been caught one day, you'll give a tangible reason with benefits without been given a name which ought not to be given, as they say, A good name is better than a bad name.

Are deceitful joke considered as a lie?
Not all deceitful joke are considered as a lie, you can tell from the manner of approach , not like I don't joke, I do but not deceitfully, when I'm joking I don't use it as a point to insult or disrespect in an disorderly manner, so if I'm being joked at and I sense where you're headed,if it's something that you're trying to disrespect me by that means, I do put a stop to it .
Some deceitful jokes are considered as true and not lie.
So for me it's a NO

I don't welcome such.

The lie that saved me,
I really don't have one, but I can admit that lie can save ones life, take a look at this scenario:
A gang of criminals protrudes a compound and you were alone at home,seeing you they came straight to you asking of Mr Emaka's house,
You knowing fully well that the man leaves in the compound, you had to lie that the man doesn't leave here in the compound, instead you direct them to another place claimed to be Mr Emaka's house,
The question here is,
What just happened?
YOU LIED

So they left the compound to the place that they were been directly,
I immediately informed the police
