'Better late than Never'
Hello friends, I hope you all enjoyed that intriguing series of Falling into your smile.
Have you found someone whose smile you've fallen into??? You can let us know.
Well before I bring another intriguing series here's a short story I recently wrote, it was like an Essay written by me.
I was to write a story that ends with "better late than never"
Can you think of any story that ends with this. Well I'm a master at this and it's my pleasure to share one of the stories I wrote ending with this phrase...
This was probably the best month in Alice's life, you might wonder why?
Well on May 20th she was going to get married to the love of her life Damien.
Well her excited demeanour was not without cause, it was not easy to get to this stage of their love, it had experienced a lot of hurdles on the way, that left them feeling as though they would never be together.
One peculiar hurdle was that of her own clan members. Alice was an Indian and Damien was an American, the culture completely denied any girl from marrying a foreigner, she was only to marry a citizen and not an Alien.
Alice and Damien had met each other in a friends wedding ceremony, Alice was the Chief bridesmaid while Damien was the Groomsman, they kicked off from there.
Her people wanted her to marry from within but fates machinery didn't work that way, it took a long time before their love prevailed and the clam gave the freedom to marry anyone of their choice, no matter the nationality.
Alice hugged Damien when that pronouncement was made and whispered"we did it"
The next hurdle was the type of wedding they would have, Alice wanted them to have a traditional wedding ceremony before their Indian goddess while Damien wanted a simple white wedding just like the one they met each other, this decision almost tore the couple apart, kept them away from each other for weeks, but for the intervention of both families they came to a consensus.
They would hold their engagement ceremony in the traditional setting, while the main wedding would be white.
The engagement ceremony was held, it was a celebration of love between the two individuals binded together by their promises to each other.
Oh there was one more thing I forgot to mention, Alice's sister Bertha, she was not happy for Alice, she couldn't believe it.
Bertha had also dated a foreigner but broke up with him after 4 years of dating because of the culture barrier.
Now her sister who barely new her husband for 2 years was getting married.
The D-Day came, Alice was finally at rest, even though their marriage was delayed by a year, they were still going to get together officially, Bertha was to be her bridesmaid. The wedding was by 11am in the morning
While I'm the dressing room, Bertha revealed her intentions and locked Alice inside the dressing room, Alice check the time it was 10:00, she started dressing herself up, she went to her gown, but Bertha had cut it up to pieces, luckily she had an alternative, it was 10:45, she gathered pieces of cloth and climbed down through the window of the building.
Before she could navigate a cab to the venue it was 11:45am.
There she saw her Dad outside waiting with a worried look, she walked up to him and interlocked her hands with his, he led her down the aisle to her husband, she hugged him and whispered"sorry I'm late" she said ...
He smiled and replied"Its one sweetheart, 'BETTER LATE THAN NEVER'...."
Hope you enjoyed the story.
See y'all soon.
