Using Original Photos to Create Contents.
Which topic above did you choose and why?
I wanted to write about "Life as a student or worker" as most people can identify with it and find it meaningful. By working on this subject, students are encouraged to create something new and unique about the duties, pressures and ups and downs of student or work life. Deadlines, exam stress and difficulties managing our various lives all help shape the person we become.
And honestly this topic helps me capture and display what people often feel and experience, but struggle to express, so by showing effort, ambition and determination, an image is personal, meaningful and simple for others to identify with.
How long did it take you to come up with this creative idea in mind? Did you research to get the idea or did you rack your brain?
I managed to come up with the idea pretty quickly because I stopped and let my mind relax. I didn’t use any resources I just relied on my personal memories as a student to guide me. I began remembering the daily struggles, tense moments and successes in student life and that’s how the idea for this came about. It is sometimes the reflections from your own experiences and not some book or article, that give you your best ideas. It played out just like that in this case. What I wanted was a genuine idea and letting my creativity work, the concept was created soon after.
What's the idea behind the picture you used? Can the picture be understood without text?
The goal was to use the photo to let people see and relate to the everyday life of a student and the picture shows two students wearing their school uniforms and standing firmly in a classroom. And you can tell they are both resilient and playful just by the way they communicate and interact. The piles of desks and chairs in the background hint that this is either the start or finish of a school day and the scene is very peaceful.
So with this picture, no additional text is necessary. Just by dressing and decorating the store like a school, producers made it clear the setting is a school. It can represent the identity, way of life and the mood without being captioned.
Do you use original pictures or online pictures when participating in a contest?
I choose between using my own images and online pictures based on what the contest asks for. If I am able to make photos that perfectly fit the contest’s theme, I usually like to include them in my entry. Still, identifying the right location and finding the exact props I require isn’t always easy. If so, I rely on internet pictures that fit the idea I have. In other words, I pick the approach that best expresses the idea and produces the results the contest wants.
Thanks for reading my post I'm inviting @josepha,
@solperez and @okere-blessing to participate.
