Pencil Drawing Tutorial – Unleashing My Creativity on the Stylish Shark

Goodday to the beloved steemians of this community, it's been a wonderful day and today i would be sharing with you all another of my drawing which I have drawn. Art is a boundless space where imagination meets skill, and pencil drawing is one of the purest ways to express that union. The drawing below—a shark with a fashionable, urban twist—was born from a simple idea and evolved into a detailed work of art. It features a shark, not in the depths of the ocean, but standing confidently like a modern-day fashion icon, dressed in stylish clothes and accessories. This drawing is a celebration of imagination, humor, and skill, all brought to life with the humble pencil. This tutorial will walk you through how I created it, while also showing how I unleashed my creativity using nothing but a pencil.

step by step guide

step 1

I begin with a light sketch, starting with the shark’s head to ensure it retained its recognizable shape.

After doing that, I then mapped out the body posture, placing the arms in a casual, confident position. At this stage, I didn’t worry about details; my focus was on getting accurate anatomy and clothing placement.

Next i drew the sharks legs, his ripped jeans and his swagger style.

Once the outlines were in place, I started refining the shark’s head, carefully drawing the ridges, eyes, and rows of teeth to capture its natural features,

After doing that, The clothing details followed—creases in the leather jacket, the shape of the buttons, the texture of the jeans, and the positioning of accessories. I used short, precise strokes for areas that needed sharpness, like the watch’s edges, and softer lines for clothing folds.

Next i finished the details of the Jeans and I applied darker tones to areas like the inside of the mouth, the folds of the jacket, and the distressed parts of the jeans.

For the finishing touches, I revisited key areas to enhance contrast—darkening the background shadows in the jeans and jacket, refining the hat’s outline, and adding crisp highlights on the accessories. I also sharpened the lines around the shark’s teeth to keep its fierce presence intact, even with the fashionable twist. Then my drawing was finally complete.
