Pencil drawing tutorial inspired by sukuna in jujutsu kaisen
Greetings to you all and I welcome you all to my blog, I am @emmaby23 from Nigeria and today I will like to share a drawing tutorial on a character of the anime series I just watched - jujutsu kaisen. As someone newly introduced to the thrilling world of anime, discovering Jujutsu Kaisen was like unlocking a door to a universe brimming with action, emotion, and complex characters. Among all the powerful personalities in the series, Ryomen Sukuna—the King of Curses—stood out the most. Inspired by his dark charisma and wild aura, I decided to create a pencil drawing of him to express my love for the anime. Here is a step-by-step guide on how I brought this powerful figure to life on paper using only pencils
DRAWING MATERIALS
• A4 paper
• 2B pencil
• graphite pencil
• eraser
• sharpener
• ruler
• black pen.
step 1
Before starting, I gathered all my materials ready for use, and started by sketching a light outline of Sukuna’s face and upper body. His face is sharp and angular, so I paid close attention to his jawline and cheekbones. I lightly marked the positions of his eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hairline and he's markings on his face as well. Beside he's face is he's hand which I started to draw.
step 2
Once the facial features were complete, I moved to his muscular build and intricate body markings. Sukuna’s body markings were the most distinctive part of the drawing. I lightly sketched his body including he's markings as well.
step 3
The next step that I took was to use my black pen to darken the lines of my drawing gradually.
step 4
Next I used a darker pencil to shade the black tattoos across his shoulders, arms, and chest. These bold lines were done slowly and with control to ensure accuracy and symmetry.
step 5
After doing that, Once the major details were complete, I added shading to define his muscles and give the drawing a realistic three-dimensional effect. I shaded lightly under the neck and around the abs, blending with a stump to smooth out the transitions. I also used the eraser to lift highlights on areas like the cheekbones and shoulders. I also input my username at this point so as not to forget it.
step 6
After reviewing my drawing I added some finishing touches, sharpening lines, deepening shadows, and cleaning up any smudges. Below is the final result with my username and selfie.
This pencil drawing of Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen allowed me to connect with anime on a deeper level. It wasn’t just about copying an image—it was about interpreting his essence through art. Through this process, I’ve developed a stronger appreciation for both anime and pencil drawing, and I look forward to bringing more characters to life in future artworks. This pencil drawing is my tribute to a character who is as terrifying as he is unforgettable—and a reminder that every line drawn brings me closer to mastering the art I love. Hope you all liked my drawing for today and I would love to invite @caringmanasseh @saintkelvin17 and @sadaf02 to share their thoughts on my drawing.
