The Lie that Saved Me

In the presence of life troubles and the complex circles of life,a single lie can be a protector,a weapon and a propulsion that triggers a reaction of events.They can keep us from danger, saving us from the path of despair or a ticking bomb waiting to unlesh harm on others with their sting.

But what occurs when a lie,a known vice becomes a virtue?can a perfectly timed falsehood be a savior in a time of crisis?I remember vividly the lie that saved me,a story that contests the widely known wisdom that transparency and honesty is always the best option and I realized that most times,the distinction between truth and lies is blurred.

I mean,who hasn't?I remember when I was still little,I told my mum that I was going studying at a friend's house, doing otherwise,I was playing soccer on the street with my friends and unfortunately for me my mum caught me while going to get something from a store.The guilt was overwhelming when she found out,but I learnt a valuable lesson about truthfulness or honesty as you may call it.Nevertheless not all lies have greatly negative consequences,and sometimes they lead to benefits that are unexpected.

Lying can make available temporary gains but it mostly leads to more destruction than good along the line.Deceitful jokes can be called lies if they are made to trick or decieve others.Moreover,if they are to be unserious and playful they may not be acknowledged as lies and I believe that context is key.

Above all , honesty and transparency is mostly the best policy,but there may be intervals where a lie may seem like the only way out.

Amidst a troubled night in our school campus neighborhood,a group of notorious boys were looking for my neighbor,Felix,over a misunderstanding.They are noted for their violent attitudes and I foresaw Felix would be in serious trouble if they found him and I was threatened to disclose his whereabouts.

I told them he has gone to visit his uncle in a different town away from campus which wasn't true.Felix was actually hiding at a close friend's house,and my factual lie led the notorious boys off trail,giving Felix the time to leave the neighborhood Safelite until the situation died off.This particular act of mine saved and strengthened our friendship and save Felix from potential harm.

The woman telling the customer the price of the product is 100 steem instead of 80 steem,I believe she was creating a negotiation platform.In a lot of markets ,sellers tends to remain at higher prices to create the room for bargaining or haggling.This act permits both buyers and sellers to reach the mutual beneficial conclusions.

In this instance,the woman wasn't lying, instead she was simply applying a common tactical business ethic.

Having said all,the lie that saved me taught me that most times,the truth is not always clearly pronounced.While transparency and honesty is vital,they may be instances where a lie may be the light in the tunnel.It's very important to ponder the aftermath, consequences and motivations behind our every actions and make decisions that directs to the best possible results.
