What is knowledge and how does knowledge help people achieve goals?

Knowledge is the acquisition of ideals to develop oneself for growth, this could be in education, skills and observations. Knowledge helps us remain relevant and effective. Knowledge gives you the ideas and information you need to achieve your goals because you are equipped to make your decisions.

A child who aspires to be a medical professional is sent to school to study, and after years of study, he or she gains the knowledge to become a medical doctor. With this, their set goal is achieved. But another child who dreams of becoming a medical doctor but doesn't have a sponsor to send this child to school to gain the knowledge needed to achieve his or her set dream or goal. This is how knowledge help people achieve goals.

Knowledge sharpens a person and propels them to achieve their set goals because it provides all the experience, skills and information needed.

What do you understand by the saying, "Ignorance is bliss". Can ignorance be powerful?

The saying "Ignorance is bliss" means not having knowledge of a thing which can save you lots of trouble as you enjoy your peace. For instance, some people could be tensed when given ugly news; thus, unpleasant information is withheld from such people to allow them to enjoy their peace.

Ignorance could have two sides, one of which could be favourable, as the phrase "ignorance is bliss" implies, and ignorance on the other side could be seen as a lack of knowledge, making you unlearned.

Is ignorance powerful? I will say it could be powerful in giving the peace of not having an idea of some troubles, but weighing the other side of being ignorant, which keeps one uninformed, would show that being ignorant is not totally powerful.

How does misinformation affect knowledge?

When you do not get a detailed and accurate knowledge of a thing, it affects your outcome. A half-baked student who does not attend lectures but pays his or her way to make good grades on graduation cannot be compared with a diligent and committed student. This is not just applicable to students but to every level of acquiring knowledge; commitment is needed to get the right information.

Misinformation affects the application of knowledge. This could be false information that is spread, one needs to make inquiries of the source of every information before implementing such information. Misinformation could be misleading, which could lead to a person not being seen as trustworthy, being ineffective or doing things the wrong way.

Sure, knowledge is power; when you have knowledge of a thing, it gives you confidence and an easy way to handle it. I witnessed an incident where a superior could not handle the post he was employed in, it was obvious he got the post because he had a connection.

When a task needs to be done, he calls for the help of his subordinates to help him out. To some point, one of his subordinates disrespects him because he knows his boss cannot do without his help.

With this scenario, this is where the phrase "Knowledge is power" plays out. An individual needs to be educated, skilled or empowered and keep upgrading to fit into the recent innovations and trends. When you have knowledge of whatever you do, you need nobody's help to make your decisions or carry out your task effectively.
