INTRODUCTION

Skill is the ability for someone to perform or execute a job well. Skills comes from learning the process of how to do a job well. While someone may have innate capacity to do a work, learning such a job by acquiring the skills, smoothens and make it easier to do the job.

Skill is an indispensable tool that improves or transforms one's life. When one is skilful in what he or she does, they could become a “sought-after" persons in the society.

Coming to participate in this contest is a way to show one of the skills that helps put food on my table.

The Skill I am Sharing Today(ICT): Ability To Type 350 Words in 12 Minutes

Steemians, I am here to share with you all, the skill that I have developed over the years. This skill is centered on ICT. I learnt about it as as soon as I got out of secondary school. Since then, I have improved on it as I was able to set up an ICT center. Due to road construction and sale of the building where I conduct the training, I lost ground on it. Going forward, I now handle private training in ICT skills.

Everyone would agree with me that ICT is now almost one of the “must-have" skills to qualify for a job position. Not only that, it has now become an important tool that aids teaching and learning. Having gathered skills in ICT, I handle private training on the following packages:

• Excel
• Microsoft word
• Database management
• Business /Financial Accounting for micro,small and medium enterprises in excel
• Accounting for school administration in excel
• Proof reading and editing

How I discovered I could do this

When I left Secondary school and started to attend classes on computing, I was so passionate to know about everything that the computer could be used for. During that time, when my learning period elapsed, I hung around to join the evening class to learn as there was the morning and evening sessions.
I joined the evening session so as I could perfectly understand what I could not during the morning session. In the course of the training, I developed the ability to type 350 words in 12 minuites.

Taking advantage of the classes opened my eyes the more about what the computer could be used for. Taking this extra mile, I told myself that one day, I would have an institution where where people could come to learn about the usefulness of the computer.

How Often I Use This Talent in Real Life

Computing has a real life application. It could be applied often in several real life endeavors such as the following:

• Business
• Medical/Hospital management
• Banks
• Engineering
• Architecture
• Educational instructions and many more areas it could be applied in.

Now for me, I usually deploy my computing skills in the following the following:

• ICT Training services (Private)
• Accounting for small to medium size businesses(part time service)
• Administrative/Secretarial services(part time service)

These the areas that I often channel my computing skills to.

What I would do with this skill if the whole world notice it

Working towards being noticed to providing solutions to businesses in terms of computing for financial and administrative record keeping, would really give me an edge for a good reason.

What I would do with this skill if I become noticed is to establish a world class ICT center where advanced computing for administrative and financial functions could be learnt. It would be in such a way that all categories of persons like students and working classes would come to learn and obtain computing skills.

Also, would give back to the society through my skill by giving 2 less privilege persons free training.
