Child abuse, My opinion and my position.
Hello, friends welcome to my post in which I have discussed "Child abuse, My opinion and my position" as part of my participation in this 👉contest organized by @anasuleidy
- What is child abuse? Give your opinion and your own opinion.
Most children are passing through a lot in their home which is not good. To this, child abuse is any action that harms a child,d, be it emotionally, physically, psychologically, or sexually. In another way, it is also when a child is neglected from basic shelters such as food, clothes, love, education, and several others. In my opinion, child abuse is a violation of human rights The government needs to look for a way to stop any form of child abuse because children are meant to depend on adults until they have grown up.
- Have you experienced or witnessed child abuse? Tell us about your experience and position.
Yes, I have witnessed child abuse I felt so bad for the child who was abused by her aunt and her husband. I just felt like arresting the people who were suffering the child, but as of then, I can't do such. It was not a good experience at all.
The woman whom she and her husband were abusing the child was pregnant, so she went to her village and carried her relationship, which would be helping her at home. At first, she was nice to the little girl but suddenly changed after giving birth. The little girl never had the chance to go to school, and even if she wanted to, she would go late because of how busy she was. Whenever she didn't finish whatever was assigned to her or make any small mistakes, she would be beaten and starved of food which was so annoying to me.
3.- What consequences do you think child abuse has? For the abused person, for the family, and for society?
Child abuse can lead to depression, trauma, poor academic performance, trust issues, problems creating healthy relationships, and anxiety many children who have experienced this are still carrying the pain in their adulthood.
Also, it creates tension in a family, guilt, and division in a family. In a society, it leads to broken individuals who may struggle to contribute positively to society.
4.- Can a child or adolescent be identified as suffering from abuse? How? What are their characteristics?
Yes, a child or adolescent can be identified as suffering from abuse the characteristics to look at for are:
Frequent bruises or unexplained injuries
The fear of visiting home or getting close to a certain adult
Withdrawal from activities or friends
Sudden changes in academic performance or behavior
Poor malnutrition or hygiene
Knowledge of their age
Low self-esteem, anxiety or depression
5.- What case of child abuse has impacted you the most and why?
One of the child abuse cases that has impacted me the most is the one I have talked about, where a little girl was brutally abused and chased away by her aunt and her husband. Despite several reports from her teacher, neighbors, and others, the system failed to stop her aunt and aunt's husband from brutally beating her. The girl incident is heartbreaking to me, and I have made a promise to myself that I won't in any way allow my child to go and stay with someone.
6.- Do you think that children and adolescents are full subjects of rights?
Yes, I think children have the same human rights as adults and also they are granted special protections due to their vulnerability. The UN convention outlined the rights of children, which means children are recognized as having equal rights with adults.
7.- Do you think that in your country the competent bodies to prevent cases of child abuse do everything possible to avoid them?
Well the bodies are trying it possible best to prevent cases of child abuse in Nigeria, but the problem is if cases aren't reported to these bodies, the bodies wouldn't be aware of such cases because the bodies have no right to walk into someone's home and start asking if a child is been abuse or not, but in a situation where a case is presented to the bodies, the bodies work to bring Justice.
I appreciate your kind support. Thanks 🙏
Hola amigo, en las etiquetas tienes mal escrito el club5050.
Suerte en el concurso amigo.
A lot of children are facing child abuse these days, most adults who are caretakers of kids do not care about the welfare of the kids, they allow them to live the life the way they want it. Child abuse have several negative effects on children making them to perform poorly in school having poor grades, it also makes them to withdraw from social gatherings where they are fellow children are, child abuse is not favorable to the society at all. After reading your post I found out that you had a case where a little girl was being chased away by her aunt after several pleading from friends and family. I suggest that the government agencies do their best by taking more safety measures which can help stop this corrupt act, and most especially make the world a better place, you have highlighted a lot of points here and there's nothing more for me to say but bravo.
