The signboard of the steam locomotive (large steam locomotive) |
I am participating this contest, Steem Atlas Challenge X - Pin Your Favorite Spot. Thank you @damithudaya for organizing this beautiful contest.

Main gate of Saidpur Railway Workshop, Saidpur, Nilphamari |
Saidpur Railway Workshop is the largest railway factory in Bangladesh. This workshop still reflects the history of the British era. You will get a sense of British rule here from the display of vintage locomotives and machinery as well as British-style buildings. I have so many favorite places here, and I am going to tell you about one of them. I will give you an overview of the steam locomotives on display at the Saidpur Railway Workshop.
 |
A showpiece that located next to the main gate |
Before I talk about the steam locomotives, I would like to tell you about a small locomotive that you can see before entering the workshop through the main gate. This small locomotive is displayed next to the main gate for all visitors who pass by. This small locomotive outside makes this place even more iconic and gives you an idea of the significance of the locmotive work that takes place here. For me this monument symbolizes the modern structure of our country's passenger mail trains. Because it matches the color used in our country's mail trains.
 |
The gate to the showpiece is open |
When I arrived at the main gate of the Saidpur Railway Workshop, the first monument or showpiece that impressed me was a small locomotive, giving the impression that it is a railway workshop. I believe that these types of monuments should be kept near the main gate of our country's most important railway workshop. The monument was accessible to all visitors. Maybe the gate to this monument was open so that anyone can take pictures with it.
 |
As I was walking past this location in the Saidpur Railway workshop, I paused to admire this vintage steam locomotive |
After witnessing a monument of a modern railway I entered the railway workshop. You must be an employee or have a reference from someone you know who worked here in order to enter the workshop. Only then will you be able to get permission from the security guard to enter here. I entered there by the reference of a younger brother who works hers. He came to the main gate and informed the security that I was his guest, and I was granted permission to enter.
 |
Side view of the locomotive |
The vintage locomotives parked in a small garden were the most interesting sight I discovered upon entering the workshop. This steam locomotives were buit in 1921 and they were opertional in Saidpur from 1937-1983. I was happy to see these old British locomotives from the time when the British ruled this region. These remain motionless, bearing the witness of history.
 |
Small steam locomotive |
Two steam locomotives can be seen here; one is larger than the other, but they both had an interesting appearance. It would be a wonderful scenery if I could see how the larger steam locomotives run. However, this is not possible because these are not functional and are only preserved here as a monument.
 |
The two steam locomotive has kept near to each other |
These locomotives still look brand new because the authority takes good care of them. Even though the British era is over, these locomotives can serve as a reminder of how railway locomotives looked back then and how much better they are now. Old steam locomotives served as inspiration for the design of modern locomotives.
 |
Two steam locomotives are located in this beautiful landscape |
I enjoyed the look of these vintage locomotives. I hope the railway authorities take good care of these steam locomotives and preserve them here as a significant monument so that we can learn about the history of our railway and its ongoing development.

What an awesome history. The steam locomotives is just incredible, it's so cool Bangladesh is preserving these British era trains. The detailed specs you provided really show the engineering prowess of that time. I should let my little nephew see this, he still doubts technology was awesome in the 20th century. Thanks for sharing
Please set the pin according to the correct Google Maps location. The Google Maps location you specified is incorrect. Set the PIN according to the link below.

I hope you will pay attention.
I provided the exact Google Maps coordinates from which I took the photograph. The location for the Steem Atlas was chosen between the area of large and small locomotives, which are situated within a few steps of one another. I shared photographs of both locomotives. I am attaching a screenshot of the picture's location in the gallery. Please check.
If you need to justify the location, I can send you the exact photo via Google Photos.
Here is the coordinate of the Google map location you have provided, 25.7907375,88.8887656
And here are the coordinates of the pin: 25.2946848 lat 88.95492554
So, as you can see there's a huge difference between the two. Precisely 55km
Hi @damithudaya, @solaymann Please check it now. I also edited the steem-atlas location.
That looks fine now!
But my post has not been verified yet.
The steem atlas location was taken from my location future in embed pin, but the result was a 55-kilometer difference. I do not understand why. Perhaps there is an issue with the map.
