I am a little bit upset

I have a 66-year-old friend who lives next door and has breast cancer. She went to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital today to admit herself for the surgery. Her younger daughter lives in New Zealand, and her elder daughter works as a doctor. She was a former matron at Borella's Lady Ridgeway Hospital. Both her daughters are married. Since she would cover all the costs, her younger child, who resides in New Zealand, had requested that she have the surgery at Asiri Hospital. However, the channeling physician had suggested that she get the surgery at Maharagama Hospital.

Breast cancer develops when abnormal breast cells grow and turn into tumors. If we fail to find it early, tumors can spread throughout the body and become fatal. But if we find it early, it won't be a threat to life.

Today, she left with her elder daughter. I requested her to call me at any moment to get my help. One of my friends and I accompanied her to Anuradhapura Jayasri Maha Bodhi last Saturday, where we performed a Bodhi Puja to bless her operation.

Constantly, we made her mind strong and blessed her. She felt a little scared. We mentioned that our actress Malani Fonseka also suffered from the same ailment, but she healed after surgery; nonetheless, she died as a result of her negligence.

Today, the doctor will give the date and time for the operation. She said that two of her friends who worked at the Lady Ridgeway with her are working in that ward. Therefore, she had some confidence.

After her surgery, my friend and I decided to visit her. We know it will give some relief to her sick mind.

We are a little upset because she is one of our friends. In particular, the disease is cancer. However, we are somewhat relieved as it was discovered in an early stage.

I take this opportunity to wish her all the success for her surgery.
