Tech Blog #219 | Realme 14Pro+ : Midrange with Less Flaws...

Most midrange smartphones doesn't have a decent camera setup. They just boast about the main camera but not about the 8MP ultrawide or 2MP Macro. And the power of the processor can't handle the full intake of the main cam and it also ends struggling. 2 years ago, Realme started to break this pattern by introducing a Pro+ version to the lineup. So it's time to talk about Realme 14Pro+.

#Realme 14Pro+ still brings the good old gene of its lineup but it has dropped some flashy stuff that make the #smartphone looks cheap. Now, the camera island looks premium. Triple flash lights kinda cool too. You know what other cool thing is, when the back panel of Pearl White variant cools down than 16°C, it turns kinda blue. So with IP68/IP69 ratings, you can submerge the whole smartphone is ice cold water to see this color change.

The 6.83 inch curved 120Hz OLED display looks stunning and with the curved back glass, it fits comfortably on the hand. OLED displays tend to have a resistance to green lines so that's a good thing. It tops its brightness at 1150 nits on auto mode so it's quite visible under direct sunlight. Gorilla Glass 7i could protect scratching from sand and keys which is good for durability.

The Realme 14Pro+ is powered by Snapdragon 7sGen3 which is a generation upgrade from last year. It comes with memory variants upto 12GB RAM + 512GB ROM. It comes with Realme UI 6.0 with #Android 15 and planned to supply 2 major Android updates.

Realme 14Pro+ has a triple camera setup on the back with 50MP main camera with OIS lens, 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide camera with 120° FoV. I think this is the only smartphone with periscope zoom setup in this price range. If the ultrawide sensor could have been upgraded to atleast a 12MP and an Autofocus lens, this could be a complete setup. Almost forgot about the front cam which is 32MP with Autofocus.

The Realme 14 Pro+ is powered by a 6000mAh Si/C battery with 80W fast charging. It doesn't have wireless charging support but I don't think the users won't miss it. It's an easy one day usage with probably more than 15+ hours of screen on time. Even though it packs a big battery, it weighs under 200g thanks to Si/C anode technology.

I saw some ads of this smartphone on Facebook Marketplace for around 85K for 256GB variant. I think it's a good deal for that price. But you should be careful when buying that kind of devices as it could be refurbished. Also they're not TRCSL approved. But if you ask whether I recommend to buy it? YEAH.. But you have to nitpick and find out that the device it legit.
