Heritage of Cebu Monument
Hello fellow steemian, friends and folk,
Heritage of Cebu Monument - is a public historical landmark which found at Sikatuna Street, Cebu City. It is well-known in Cebu as Parian Monument, which the landmark also situated in barangay Parian, Cebu City, the local name which Cebuanos popularly knows. Which it is a series of brass, bronze and metal made sculptures which it commemorates the special events of people, and buildings that sorround in Cebu in the past colony.

In my research, it is sculptured by a Filipino sculptor Eduardo Castrillo, with architects Heradio Español and Ildefonso Santos. This is the site of Saint John the Baptist Church which was demolished in 1875 by the Diocese of Cebu. Then it is replaced with the construction of Heritage of Cebu, which funded by the late Cebuano senator Marcelo B. Fernan, with the help of some donor and sponsors which starts in July 1997, and three years later, the monument was finish and introduced to the public in the year 2000 of December.

So how to get this place? Likes in my case, I'm from Lapu-lapu City, where MCIA (Mactan Cebu International Airport) also situated, then I want to go to this place. So I'll need to ride a PUB (public utility bus), with a route of Mactan-Parkmall with a fare of 36 pesos (0.63 US$), then hop again with PUB, with a route of Parkmall-Colon and with the fare of 25 pesos (0.44 US$), then I drop-off in V. Gullas Street (this is back and forth fare). And I'll need to walk by foot this Sikatuna Street for 10 to 15 minutes inorder to reach the place, which this is somewhere in Colon area. But an advice, much better if you do a commute rather than riding with your private vehicle just to avoid and lesser any heavy of traffic.

And most informative thing as I've said, it is a public place, so it is free to view and free to captured a photographs and no need to pay for entrance fee. This heritage park is open at all times, which you don't need to rush for the closing time, because it is twenty-four hours opened. Another important reminder, no bandalism and no garbage must be left upon leaving the place, if it is clean when you arrived so then it is also clean when you depart. Leave the place as cleaned as possible and to avoid any fines if ever you will be caught by LGU's.

And at the back portion of the heritage, you can found the Parian fire station, which it can easily to access in any fire incidents because it has a wide and narrow road.

Thus, HERITAGE OF CEBU nameplate said;
The pride, unity and cultural wealth of a race emanate from people's sense of self and history, from the early Filipinos to the dawn of European colonization, the revolution of 1896, the birth of Philippine Republic. The heroic contribution of Cebuano people and the saga of events, which transpired on the islands of Cebu, are vital elements in the formulation of the nation we know today.
Their contribution should rightfully be emulated, immortalized and honored in a lasting monumental, aesthetic experience.
This works of art in Parian Park is the loving legacy of the City and Province of Cebu. This monumental and scultural tableau is honor to the people of Cebu and is a tribute to all Filipino people and the wealth of our race.
We congratulate the artist for his magnificient work and sacrifice in realizing his vision and concept into an artwork, which can be enjoyed by today's generation and those yet to come.
