What is tennis elbow? Write in your own words after gaining knowledge from the lesson post. (Note: do not add any special tests or investigations in this question. Write the answer precisely).
After studying the material given by the teacher, here I will first reiterate what tennis elbow is and its details.
Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is a condition in which there will be pain and inflammation that generally occurs in the hand and especially in the lateral side of the elbow, often associated with the lateral epicondylus. From the name alone it is clear that lateral epicondylitis will certainly affect the lateral epicondylus.
There are several things that cause this Technical Elbow, but generally are as follows:
- Some occur due to excessive or repetitive strain such as during sports, especially table tennis, badminton and also some other sports that generally use the hand a lot, especially the elbow.
- Apart from that, it may be due to lateral epicondylitis which is generally caused by biomechanics or from poor posture, for example by using poor biomechanics during activities.
- And there is also one other thing that causes this technical elbow for example wear and tear due to the continuation of age which occurs due to degenerative changes in the weave as well as in the muscles in the arm area especially the elbow.
As for the symptoms of tennis elbow, they often occur as follows:
- People will feel pain and slight pressure in the hand especially the elbow (lateral elbow).
- Other symptoms include pain when grasping something or even when turning the body and also when someone lifts something heavy.
- There are other symptoms such as muscle weakness in the hand, especially in the wrist and also the forearm which we already know usually occurs due to repeated activities carried out by the hand.
Meanwhile, there are various types of tennis elbow including: acute tennis elbow and chronic tennis elbow.
- Acute tennis elbow usually develops symptoms suddenly, which can occur due to trauma or injury conditions. Generally, this symptom occurs for several days or even up to one week.
- As for chronic tennis elbow, there is generally pain and inflammation that may continue, which usually occurs due to overuse or the same as the previous one, namely repeated pressure during activities. As for this tennis elbow, the symptoms usually appear for several weeks and even up to months.
How is tennis elbow diagnosed? Is there a clinical examination or assessment test?
Now that we know tennis elbow in detail, then next we will share a little diagnosis when tennis elbow occurs. There are several methods that can be done for the technical diagnosis of this elbow. But here we will talk about the diagnosis of Tennis Elbow which is often used only, including the following:
- By looking at the history of the family, starting from the past medical history profession and surgical history if any.
- Then it will also be followed by an examination such as an overall physical examination which is usually done by a doctor or can also be done by a physical therapist.
- And the last is by using some sophisticated tools with the aim of being able to check inside such as using X-rays, ultrasound, and MRI, each of which serves to see and confirm fractures, arthritis to muscle or tendon ruptures.
Cobalah untuk berlatih setidaknya 3 latihan yang telah Anda pelajari dari pelajaran tersebut. Bagikan gambar, gif, atau video saat berlatih, sebaiknya gif atau video.
Finger Stretch
Now, when I do finger stretches, I will then do stretching exercises on my fingers in various areas from the wrist to the fingertips, as I did in the video above. All of us should know that this kind of stretching is actually very beneficial because it can repair painful muscles in the hand, especially from the wrist to the fingertips.
Wrist Flexors Stretch
Next I performed the Wrist Flexor Stretch, during which I made full use of the hand by extending one arm and fingers straight, then pointing the wrist and fingers upwards. Then with the help of the other hand, grasp and pull back. Hold for ten seconds, I do it repeatedly. The purpose of this is to stretch the hands and fingers as well.
Wrist Isometric Exercises
Lastly, I did the Wrist Isometric exercise where I would apply slight pressure to the wrist. You do this in various positions as I did in the video above. Remember apply pressure slowly. The need for exercises like this is to strengthen the muscles around the wrist.
Bagikan ulasan Anda setelah melakukan latihan ini baik pada diri Anda sendiri, individu yang sehat, atau pasien.
After I did this Finger Stretch Exercise that makes the fingers lighter and more flexible so that it feels very good, especially when we often type on the latop keyboard or scroll social media like many people have done so far. So after I tried this exercise, my hands felt really good and even made my fingers more relieved and relaxed and most importantly, it was easy to relieve soreness.
After doing the Wrist Flexors Stretch exercise, I feel that this exercise is perfect for anyone who uses their hands a lot, such as often and long holding a mouse or other objects. Some of the movements performed in this exercise are certainly very beneficial for the wrist to feel more relieved and more flexible.
Wrist Isometric Exercises are very easy to do, but you need to know that there are many benefits such as making the wrist stronger and more stable, especially when you often hold heavy and vibrating objects. After I seirng doing this exercise, then when holding objects or heavy items or physical activity becomes more comfortable.
Thank you for your attention and apologize if there are any mistakes.
@walictd

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.
Observations
Task 1 (3/3)
You have shared a great knowledge about tennis elbow, its symptoms, cause, it's types. That's good you explain the types of tennis elbow. I appreciate your effort.
Task 2 (2.6/3)
In the second question, you tell us about how you have to assess a patient by doing physical examination, history taking, and investigations. But you didn't add the special tests. It would be better to add explanation of special tests. Great.
Task 3 (4/4)
You try the finger stretches, wrist flexor stretch, wrist isometric exercises. You did the finger stretches, wrist isometric exercise, and wrist flexor stretch correctly. Always remember to apply heat pack in chronic condition and ice pack in acute condition before performing exercises to relax the muscles and reduce stiffness. I appreciate your efforts.
Overall you made a great attempt to answer all the questions. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from tennis elbow or any type of wrist. Thank you.
Thankyou so much 🙏🙏🤗
¡Holaaa amigo!🤗
Thankyou so much my friend
Pemaparan yang menjelaskan tentang kesehatan sekaligus kebugaran fisik yang sangat luar biasa. Semoga selalu beruntung....
