Installing Solar Lights on Busy Barangay Roads
Hello, everyone! I hope we are all in God's grace and mercy. Today, my family and I are already feeling better, we drank medicines and boiled herbs to make our healing faster, thanks to God for our body's ability for healing.
My post today will be about the day when I and my colleagues installed solar lights in our busy barangay roads. Lights are essential for safety especially now that there are many factories around that gives us jobs, their working shift starts from 6 am and ends on 6pm and most of the employees goes to and comes home in the dark thus lighting are needed for their safety.
The other day, all of us CVO workers are called and instructed to install solar lights; then the day came and the final instructions were given to us by the barangay chairman inside the barangay hall and then we proceed to working on some of the preparations.
This little man is a son of my colleague and he was making funny faces as I was trying to take pictures of what was happening outside our barracks.
Some of my colleagues were concreting some paint cans with bamboos sticking up for caution signage that will be used soon; that's what the half of us got their hands on but soon, Jimmy and i as well as other barangay officials went to the zone 1 to install the solar lights.
We brought cement and sand, as well as other tools with us to dig for lamp post where the solar lights will be set.
Arriving at the destination, we all went down and prepared for work. of course, the older gents were only giving instructions and we the ones that belonged to the younger generations were the ones that dug a hole for the post.
OF course, even though it was a solar powered light, the barangay electrician was still with us. To strengthen the light post, we mixed concrete and added it on the hole before we put in the post where the solar light was already at the top we will not be needing to climb.
This is the pictures of the road where we installed the light post; the houses were too far and there is really a need on help with the lights; there are many electric posts but there were no lights for the passerbys to use at night.
It was a hard work for us considering it was a heavy job and the sun was very hot but I am very happy that I was able to serve to my fellow.
This will be all for now, thank you so much for you time and support. Keep safe and stay happy.
