Contest: Quantity or Quality?

Think of writing any topic as a story, essay, or drama. You can write in any way you want. But you must pay attention to writing because when the reader reads this text, he should be influenced by it and he can learn something. In this case, it is very important to maintain the standard and quality of any writing.How an essay is written depends largely on the purpose of writing, the type of reader, the subject matter and the author's point of view, and the structural presentation. The success of the essay depends on how skillfully these elements are coordinated.

If there are only two choices, which one do you think is more important : 1) flooding Steem with a large number of active authors; or 2) getting quality writers (which is not in large number)?

It is good to have a large number of active writers on Steemit. This will increase the number of readers. But along with quantity, quality is 100% important. Because when a reader reads the content, if he does not feel any emotion or love for writing, he will gradually reduce his reading or will not want to read anymore. Therefore, it is important to focus on quality in addition to quantity. It is not a problem if there are fewer writers, but no matter how many writers there are, they must be quality writers.

For Steemit or any platform to be successful in the long term, the quality of the content is the real issue. 10 quality, thoughtful and relevant content creators have a much greater impact than 100 writers. The writing of quality content attract the readers, they come back. If good writers are given priority on the platform in the beginning, then future writers will also follow that quality. If a small number of but consistently good content is created, their performance and reader interaction will be.
But it is also true, numbers cannot be ignored at all. In addition to selecting quality writers at the beginning, a framework needs to be created so that new writers get training and encouragement, and good writers of the future emerge from them.

What do you think constitutes ‘quality’ writing?

Quality writing refers to writing that is considered high quality according to certain standards or qualitative criteria. The quality writing means that the relevance and depth of the content which the writing accurately presents its subject matter. The accuracy and clarity of language whether the spelling, grammar, and language structure are correct and readable. The reliability of the writing in terms of information and logic. If the writing structure is well-organized and clear, it is understandable to the reader. The extent to which the writing conveys original thought and creative perspective is also an important criterion.
