Today, I want to share a little story about my experience becoming a template creator on CapCut, and how this journey has made me more passionate about the world of video editing.

At first, I was just casually using CapCut to edit personal videos. But after frequently seeing videos with the label “Use Template,” I got curious:
“How do you become a template creator like that?”
After doing some research, I found out that CapCut has a special feature for creating templates — and the best part is: it’s FREE! You can sign up and start uploading your own creations right away.
🔓 How to Become a Template Creator
The steps are super easy:
- Open CapCut → go to Creator Center
- Tap “Apply to Become a Template Creator”
- Follow the steps → and you can start uploading immediately!
At first, I thought I had to pay or subscribe to a Pro package, but turns out — you don’t! So if you're unsure, don’t worry... it’s completely free 😄
💡 Learning From Scratch
In the beginning, I was confused:
What kind of templates do people like?
Why did no one use my template after I uploaded it?
What does “Paid Partnership” even mean?
But after experimenting a few times, I started to understand the pattern and strategy — from making short, catchy templates, choosing viral songs, to writing eye-catching titles.
📈 Progress & Challenges
At the time I’m writing this, I’ve already:
Uploaded several templates
Activated the paid partnership feature (so they can be monetized)
Completed a few missions from CapCut like “upload 4 days in a row”
I was honestly surprised when I saw one of my templates actually getting used by other people! It felt so amazing to see something I made being used by many 🥹✨
💸 About Monetization
CapCut has a monetization system — the more people use your template, the higher your chances of earning money (in USD).
Of course, it requires effort and consistency.
Right now, my earnings are still small, but I’ve seen some Indonesian creators who have already made hundreds of thousands to even millions of rupiah from templates. That really motivates me to keep going!
