The Steem Representative Recruitment and The Multiple Account Holders

There are several words I could use to describe the Steem environment from my understanding, but perhaps the one I want to put forward in this post is: dynamic, evolving.

As we all know, Steemit, Inc. is screening for a pool of 20 Steem Representatives (SRs) to replace the current SRs, with the possibility that some of the current SRs will continue their services. 59 applications have been submitted, you can find the full list of applications at #steemreps2025. Applicant statistics breaking down the topics: Country, Gender, Club, and Steem Power can be found at The 2025 Steem Representative Applicants Statistics.

An account, @vhiiesya, posted an article under #steemreps2025, not to apply, but to correct some things in the SR recruitment process, and make some accusations to certain parties. In addition, this account also made some suggestions on the recruitment process and the duties of the elected SRs. The article is quite long, containing no less than 2600 words, titled Steemit Representative and Booming Programme ‘Concerns and Proposals’.

The account vhiiesya was created on 11 October 2018, at the time of this writing, has a Reputation of 38.15, and appears to have only 1 such post. The account lives on 1.17 SP of incoming delegation from Steem, with no Own SP. Reading his posts, we are not wrong to believe that the vhiiesya account is run by someone who is quite familiar with the dynamics on Steem. It could be that the person running this account also runs one of the accounts that has sent SR proposals (riiiiight?!).

The most interesting thing I found in the article, is: the existence of users who run multiple accounts. vhiiesya explicitly requested that multiple account holders who use these accounts ‘to game the system’ be excluded from SR screening. This has sparked a debate and discussion on the comment bar.

I and My Multiple Accounts, The Verification Got in the Way!

A few weeks before the split and the birth of hive.blog, I lost access to the internet due to a work relocation to a remote place. When I returned to an area with access to the internet, the split had happened. I discovered many new things, including account verification (to prevent account farming). As much as I love anonymity online, I understand that identity verification on Steem has a logical rationale, so I posted the article (link can be found at the bottom of this post).

However, I have more than one account under my management, 2 community accounts (arteem and @ssea-miner), and another account that I use to test various aspects of the Steem economy, including vote trading and SP delegation (to get an idea of how these practices actually attract interest and who benefits most from them). The last few weeks I've also been entrusted with the keys to the steem.sea and steemseacurator community accounts.

Practically, the account that I use most often these days, apart from the main account (aneukpineung78) is ssea-miner (for the Weekly Report on the implementation of the #SSEA-MINER Programme). While the steem.sea account (booming vote allocation report) I last used a few weeks ago. The other accounts have long been abandoned and I only look at them occasionally when I have time.

With only 3 accounts, two of which I only use on a weekly basis, I often struggle to find the time, so I sometimes find myself in awe of users like @wakeupkitty who are active with various agendas through accounts created specifically for certain uses, and even has a new account @wakucat which is the official account of her newly launched Witness programme. I feel the same way about @the-gorilla, with his accounts built for various specialised purposes, including his very active quiz account. I am a bit curious, how many “l” are there in the newest version?

Aside from the people who run multiple accounts, I also admire users like @joslud, who seem to be everywhere. We can certainly agree that he is one of the users with high exposure (through his involvement in various communities as a board member and also a curation programme implementer who diligently makes regular reports).

Imagine the time they dedicate to Steem, with all those plans and interests, and works!

I'm not going to talk about whether one can't have more than one Steem account, @xpilar -one of our beloved witness- has stated, ‘There is no law that says you can't have multiple accounts on steem’. In my opinion, the question is how these accounts are used.

Yes. That's it! I want to hear your opinions on the multi-account topic. Thank you.

Tulisannya lumayan panjang, mengandung tidak kurang dari 2600 kata, berjudul Steemit Representative and Booming Program " Concerns and Proposals".

Saya and Akun-akun Saya, Proses Verifikasi Datang!

There is no law that says you can't have multiple accounts on steem".

Hello friend! Lots of reading material - from you and the anonymous do-gooder...

As always, I can only speak for myself: of course it is not forbidden to have several accounts. I think it's a question of decency to treat it seriously. There are plenty of examples of Steemians who handle this in an exemplary manner. And there are others. It can't be forbidden on a decentralised platform. Who should ban it? There is no government, no legislators.

As an SR myself, I have often criticised the bad habit of reporting for the purpose of guaranteed votes. I didn't go along with it, the world didn't end ;-)) Besides, I was never a friend of dual functions; an SR doesn't have to be a sc etc. But that's where my agreement with the disputatious colleague ends.

I have never understood it as a task to win as many new Steemians as possible, especially not 10 per month! We don't need countless new users, we need good authors. You don't find them that way, you scare them away with the mass production of rubbish.

And the idea of not voting for contributions from your own region or country as an SR is absurd: these are the only ones who can be fully understood, categorised and evaluated.

One last thing: I find it inappropriate and offensive to discredit applicants from Pakistan across the board, i.e. without mentioning individual cases. Anyone who begs for attention in this way does not deserve any.

So enough of that!

Yes, that's a lot of reading. Thank you for taking the time to read and provide insightful comments on some important points. From your comments I have an additional understanding of the SRs' position and how they work and reason their decisions. This is a very valuable input, aside from the multiple account issue, of course.
