How do you pitch to venture capitalists (VCs) when they don't respond at all?
The problem and challenge is that almost all VCs can’t think for themselves. From what I don’t know, they need validation. They cant find a deal themselves. They are followers not leaders like a visionary founder.
I’ve tested the big ones. With LinkedIn messaging and X. High contextual subject matter. And they won’t even connect. Pure arrogance. No respect. Until they want something.
They can’t imagine what they can’t see, yet they want to discover the next big thing. What a joke.
Example: A top GP of a major NYC VC writes a lengthy article about AI. Lists his personal email and requests feedback on his article and insights from founders etc.. The content was dead on with my LinkedIn postings and deck. So I spend two hours responding with a detailed drill down to each of his points. That was a coup I thought.
The result: The dude or non-dude didn’t even respond. Not even a thank you. I tried three more times to keep it professional on key metrics. Again nothing. No check on my LinkedIn profile either. Nothing.
My point: Its mostly self-awareness and ego. They want to be seen by their colleagues. It’s a game to them. They think they are celebrities and want to be treated like one. If you have the goods as a founder, your sole mate exists. It just takes time. But NEVER settle for bullshit.
BTW, my deck is tracable. IOW, I can see what pages get views and how long. And most VCs/Investors I have given permission to access my high-level deck have lied to me. Just dumb.
They failed my test. So they are done.
But keep at it. All it takes is one contact. As long as you are prepared.
