Summary Report | SLC S24 Week- 5 | The Mysterious Passenger | Steemit Challenge Season 24

in Steem POD Team3 days ago (edited)

Hello, my dear fellow Steemians,

I welcome you to our fifth weekly report of the "Steemit Learning Challenge Season 24 Week 5," organized by the Team Wordsmiths. This was the fifth week of the challenge, and as expected, it was different as fewer participants made mistakes. However, we ignored the entries with a few words here or there, but the ones that went way over or less than required received fewer marks.

This week's prompt was a real story that I have used before but in a different form. This story is spread all over the internet and print media, so I was expecting users to find an easy way but thankfully most of them not but used their own imagination.

We received a total of 40 entries, and consider all of them valid, barring a few that did not follow the stipulated terms or did not read the prompt carefully. They received lower marks for not following the rules, especially for not reading the prompt properly.

As expected, we received no entry with the use of AI, or even if found one or two such entries, they passed our analytic assessment.

Conclusion

We chose fictional story writing as the subject of our challenge, and we are happy that we met this challenge to a great extent. I am here with a hearty thank you to all contributors for their quality stories.

The number of entries, even if reduced compared to last week, shows that the participants displayed their skill in writing in the fiction niche; therefore, we are hopeful the number of participants will increase in the concluding week.

Our team did their best efforts checking the posts based on the set criteria of content: story setting and world-building, originality, formatting, presentation, uniqueness, and, of course, rule-following. It was not easy, but we selected our top 6 winners purely based on points obtained.

“Mr. Donnel?” she asked.
The angel in disguise nodded, wide-eyed.
“All is intact… but, uhm… there seems to be some kind of mistake on your papers, sir.”
“What do you mean… what mistake?”

"Could it be a possible misprint?" Helen asked.
"I doubt if it is. Look at this." Chuks pointed at the embossed seal. It has a rising sun, an open eye and a word "Abasiki, the land of clarity. "I think we call Idara, the Intelligence Officer." Chuks added as she left hurriedly.

The man smiled. “It’s an island nation in the Southern Ocean. Isolated. Hidden in mists most of the year. We don’t deal with the outside world often. I’m here to observe how your world handles change.”

I am so excited to be part of the winners of last weeks contest. Thanks to all the Mod @dove11 and colleagues
