With a Little Help from Our Friends... ['Guidelines' & More]

in Steem POD Team17 hours ago

Team Europe was ready and has indeed been selected to curate the community with a bit more power. The keys to SC03 have been handed over to us, so we can now officially get to work. Of course, not without a proper word of thanks.

We would like to thank the Steemit Team for the trust placed in us and their openness toward our slightly different - even unusual - approach. It's wonderful that you're giving this experiment a chance!

But most of all, we thank you - the community! We were almost overwhelmed and deeply honored by the incredible response to our application. That was amazingly encouraging and confirmed us in our plan, which is obviously not so far-fetched. We promise we won't let you down - let’s take off together!

Guidelines

Well, we’re doing things a little differently right from the start. So now we’ll skip listing the long-known and universally valid “rules” and just emphasize that even after all these years, we remain strong supporters of the Steemit Netiquette.
But one thing we want to clearly point out: we truly mean it when we say that using any kind of delegation services is a disqualifying factor. We believe that every single Steemian is a curator. Anyone who doesn't fully use their SP for the growth of the community but instead mainly is their best curation reciever clearly doesn’t need the SP of other curators - simple give and take.
Content published on other blockchains will also be placed on the endless waiting list.

The best way to catch our attention - aside from an appealing article title - is honesty and authenticity.
Be yourself, be committed, be good!

If too much humanity clouds our judgement, technology will keep us in check...

Semi-Automation

As mentioned, the sc03-account will follow our private votes on manually selected posts and comments using a sophisticated system.
That means we can’t offer a fixed schedule showing when “your best buddy” is on duty: all three of us are around 24/7.

Our code calculates how much of the available SP a user has already received in a week. Once this threshold is crossed, our 'follow-vote program' will stop cooperating.
Sounds good? It is good!

Needless to say, our developers haven't slept in days and have successfully completed multiple test runs. Just in case you missed it…

If something goes wrong, our guys are always ready to tweak things in the engine room. If you notice any issues, feel free to tag one of us.
And please remember… nobody (or machine) is perfect - fingers crossed!

With a Little Help from Our Friends

Friends, supporters, believers - you've already helped us so much! Maybe you can go a little further?!
Team Europe is especially dedicated to discovering European talents (No, we will not exclusively vote for European content!).
However… we do get around and see a lot of what’s happening on Steem. But not everything... So it’s quite possible that some outstanding European writers have escaped our radar.

That’s why we’re asking you to suggest a few promising users.
You can write a brief explanation in the comment section of this post or even publish a full article and drop the link here. Please make sure your suggestions meet our basic criteria - no need to reinvent SteemWorld multiple times.
As for rewards - there will be no shortage. We genuinely appreciate selfless collaboration from the heart.

Looking forward to working together!

Ingenious. I did miss the test runs. Just had a look. Everything looks great. All the best.

I like this:

Team Europe is especially dedicated to discovering European talent (No, we won't vote exclusively for European content!).

And I like it because we can't fall into the "error" of questioning what we're doing. I mean, if there are good European publications, we should support them, but I also think it's important to support valuable publications from other users who live in the rest of the world.

My idea for Steemit, perhaps a bit utopian, is that it becomes a space for learning; and by this I don't just mean "academic knowledge"; but also knowledge of life. That is, that we can all know and experience what it's like anywhere in the world; but also that we can pass on what we know to others.

I wish you success.

I think most community curators are looking everywhere. That's great in terms of not wanting to overlook anyone.
But it's also overwhelming and it's easier to make “mistakes”. You lose track (especially of duplicate and multiple accounts that you don't know about), you vote for something that you don't understand (how many orthographically poor articles are voted for here...). You don't want to be corrupt yourself (okay, some do it on purpose) yet you let yourself become an instrument when you presume to serve as many as possible... All holes in the system...

Okay, now I'm writing so much again. Actually, I just wanted to say one thing:
We serve 1 of 11 (!) accounts.

If we could vote exclusively good European posts with these less than 10%, I would be very happy. But unfortunately there are not that many authors! We were once many...
There are a lot of reasons why many just left and many hid in their “then-I-just-care-for-myself corner” via bots and delegations.
A few users are hoping that our new approach will revitalize “the European scene” a little. Maybe. Or maybe not. It's an experiment, we'll evaluate later, not on the first day... :-)

You learn every day on Steemit, every day. The “behavioral studies” are particularly interesting...

Thank you.

I agree with you. I wish you success.

Greetings!

Wishing you a good month, I hope you can reward a lot of users and great content!

I have a doubt with this:

You can write a brief explanation in the comment section of this post or even publish a full article and drop the link here.

This means that I can suggest my own article? (Of course, well explained and not every single thing we post)

I’m asking because I have posted my experience on becoming in a University park ranger and I am wondering if I can share it with you…

I am not planning to suggest any other article from my own this month, that’s not my style, but that was a really amazing experience and a big achievement for me, maybe it’s worth to share.

Of course that I will try to give you some spanish content over this month from other authors! Let me see what I can discover.

PS: I know my English is not perfect, but I always do my best to break language barriers ~

looking forward for your reply;)

😳
No. Absolutely not, please don't do that.

that’s not my style

Great! An absolute nogo in terms of netiquette - especially since you are very well connected.

We are looking for good European authors that we do not (yet) know. The community is welcome to draw our attention to these authors. We will then take a look at their blogs.
We do not want to be a collection point for individual postings. Absolutely not! You yourself should know what a flood can happen very quickly with such an “offer”... 😉

Yes, at first I just thought about pasting the link here, but after I re thought the thing and decided to ask directly because it was not clear in my mind yet.

I did well, thank you for the response!

I will try to check your weekly selection and give extra support there too, it’s not much but it’s honest work haha

Good night,

Fair enough.

Congratulations!

Congrats! :)

I was going to write "small steps" but that's actually quite a big step! :)

I particularly like the:

"using any kind of delegation services is a disqualifying factor"

I believe this should cover only for those automatic bots that give upvotes once a day based on the delegated SP and not the other type of delegations, either incoming or outgoing? Perhaps bid bots should be included as well? ;)
