Lapu-lapu City Basketball Complex - is an outdoor basketball gym that was located in Lopez Jaena St., Lapu-lapu City.

Court Specs

It is an outdoor basketball court surfaces which generally made from a standard paving materials such as concrete. In fact, it is a playing surface that consist of a rectangular floor with a baskets at each end.

And for this court, it has a three-point arc at both baskets, inwhich a basket made from behind this arc is worth three points, while a basket made from within this line or with a player's foot touching the line, is worth two points.

The free-throw line, where one stands while taking a foul shot, is located within the three-point arc at 15 feet from the plane of the backboard. A foul shot is worth 1 point, but if a shot is made from the foul line while in play it is still worth 2 points.

A bit knowledge, in amateur basketball the court size varies widely, in fact, many of older high school gyms were 26 meters or even smaller as 23 meters in length, but the baskets are always the same as 3.05 meters above the rim to the floor level.

Court Purposes

In fact, the Lapu-lapu City administrations provided this basketball court as most likely a specific place and serves as hub for recreation for all Oponganons, in community building, and promoting physical and mental well-being among residents. Which it also offers a space for organized sports, casual games, fitness activities, and other social interaction.

Whereas, this basketball court provides a site for Oponganons of all ages, to engage in physical activities and for improvement of their health and fitness level.

It serve as an occassional gathering location for friends and neighbors, in facilitating a social interaction and strengthening community bonding.

Actually, this basketball court already hosted a leagues, tournaments, and other training sessions, which providing a structured competition and opportunities for Lapu-lapu inhabitants, most especially for youth and young ages.

Which it can be particularly valuable for young residents, offering a positive outcomes for energy, teaching teamwork and sportsmanship.

Event Space

This basketball court may also often used for community events, celebrations or a specific location for local gatherings.

Court Benches

In fact, it is a fun and family-oriented court inwhich occupants can enjoy sitting on its wide benches, and serve as a seat while enjoying and witnessing in a play.

Monument

And in the back portion of this basketball court, there was a monument placed which it was named after the local hero of Lapu-Lapu which is Datu Lapu-lapu, in fact, it also holds a cultural significance that symbolizes local pride and identity.

Court Parking

There is a designated parking space beside and at the back portion of the basketball court, which intended for four-wheel vehicles and motorcycles, in fact, it is an open space parking area and most it is free to parked for court occupants.
