Causes of Habitat and Environmental Changes
A lot of things are the contributing factors that led to the decline of the African Savannah Elephant in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Some of these factors are:
Deforestation: This is due to the expansion of agricultural land and illegal logging where elephants live.
Poaching: In Kaduna State, elephants are illegally hunted for ivory despite international ban
Climate change: Rainfall, which causes availability of water makes elephant to move to safer place.
Human Wildlife Conflict: As human settlements expand to villages and bush areas, elephants run for safety.
