Hello, friends, how are you? I hope you are all doing well. I sincerely hope that we all remain enthusiastic in our daily activities.

Aceh is known for its strong Muslim culture, so there are many mosques scattered throughout the villages in Aceh. We have visited various mosques, each with its own beauty and comfort. This time, I visited a mosque in East Aceh, specifically in the village of Paya Naden, Madat District, East Aceh Regency, Aceh. The mosque is called Masjid Sultan Ahmad.

From a distance, it can be seen that this mosque has only one dome and one minaret. The green dome has a crescent moon at its peak and is located right in the center of the mosque's roof, while the minaret stands majestically and separately from the mosque building in the mosque courtyard. This mosque is located next to the Medan-Banda Aceh road. In addition, the entire mosque building is surrounded by a fence that is about 1 meter high.

The courtyard of this mosque is quite spacious, so it can accommodate many vehicles for parking, from two-wheeled vehicles to four-wheeled vehicles. The floor of the mosque courtyard has been paved with paving blocks so that it does not get muddy easily and weeds do not grow easily.

The ablution facilities and toilets are located in a long building in the eastern courtyard of the mosque. There are two types of ablution facilities: one with a faucet and one with a basin. The ablution facilities and toilets are also divided into two sections, one for women and one for men.

---|
At the eastern end of the mosque courtyard, there is a building that doubles as a hall. It turns out that this building is where the Paya Naden village community holds its meetings. Not only that, but the building is connected to the village head's office.

There are entrances and exits on the left and right sides of the mosque. The doors can be opened and closed by sliding them and are made of iron.
![]() Mosque terrace |
---|
The mosque terrace is not very spacious, but it can be used as a place to rest, hold small religious gatherings, and as an alternative place of worship when the main hall of the mosque is full.

Inside the mosque, there is a central space called the mihrab. Inside the mihrab is a pulpit and the imam's prayer mat. The pulpit is unique in terms of both its architecture and color, and is made of sturdy wood. Next to the pulpit beside the mihrab is an analog clock, also made of carved wood, as well as several shelves for storing the Quran and fans.

---|
At the front of the first row near the wall, there are several shelves for storing the Quran. The shelves are made of wood and glass and have wheels so they can be easily moved around. The Qurans on the shelves are neatly arranged.

On the front wall, there is also a running text display showing information, time, and schedules. Calligraphy is also displayed there beautifully.
![]() Mosque rooms and mosque ceilings |
---|
The room looks spacious even though the mosque is not very large. The room feels spacious because there are not too many pillars inside. There are only four main pillars supporting the mosque's ceiling. In the center of the ceiling, right under the dome, there is a decorative lamp hanging. There are also several fans attached to the mosque's ceiling.
![]() Partition curtain |
---|
At the back of the room, there is a curtain separating the women's section. The curtain is attached to stainless steel poles, making it easy to move and adjust as needed.
