The Diary Game || 04-04-25 || Attending a Matriculation

In every tertiary instution, there is a ceremony held to welcome every newly admitted students. This ceremony is no other than the matriculation. Every school has very style and various dates of welcoming their new students. University of Uyo had their 29th Matriculation ceremony and I had to honour dual invitation. Below is the narrative of that day.

I woke up a bit tired due to the fact that I slept late. Nevertheless I had to give thanks to my creator and get ready for the exciting day. I decided to rest back only to discover that my brother (the matriculant) and others sprung up to full motion preparing for the day. I had no option than to follow suite. Few minutes to 8, we were done and ready for movement. We left home as a family to the University of Uyo Main Campus.

On reaching there, I discovered that preparation was still in progress whereas the main event hasn’t started yet. I had to greet the mother of my second maticulant, @mesola. I went to my family to take our first family photo. The session was handled by a photographer who delivered her job perfectly. The matriculants were called upon to line up according to their respective faculties for their procession.

The procession was smooth and appealing. Then, the MC gave a long and boring speech (for me cus it seems endless). All those talks was to buy time for the senate procession. At last, the senate began their prcocession which includes the deans of all faculties and the whole administration of University of Uyo.

The matriculation ceremony began fully as every rites was done. The last rite was the swearing in of the newly admitted students and welcoming them proper int the school system. After the ceremony, I had to find the Steemit family. My first clue led me to @imohmitch and then @nsijoro.

I saw @ngoenyi and @bossj23 later. I went back to my biological family in company of them. Pleasantries were exchanged and we finally found the masterpiece behind the event, @mesola. The Steemit family stood with mesola and her son @inemesituwah for a group picture. Then, I was called upon by my biological family for our last group picture in that campus. My brother who was the matriculant shared the moment with us and we adored it.

My father with my family went home while I went to the reception organized by @mesola. The proposed venue for the reception was behind Doctor mess. @ngoenyi after trekking the distance with us told us that we wont take such jounrney again due to the long distance from the main campus to the gate and the scorching sun. We (bossj23, imohmitch and I) understood that its Aluta Continua Struggle.

We made our way to the venue and were joined by other steemians in the likes of @benton3, @basil20, @uduak3687, @jozzie90 and others. Our host, mesola made sure that everyone is catered for. Moment with steemians can never be a dull one because of the cruises and jokes that will be the order of the day. I later went home with the company of bossj23, imohmich and his comrade. Going back home, I felt tired and had the urge to rest. I slept off unknowingly. It was such an interesting day that can’t be washed away in the sand of time.

That’s how my day went.
