CRIMSON AVENUE

Calista banged the gates but her feeble strength was useless against those firm steel gates. They really locked her out knowing fully well that it was her parents death anniversary.

Wasn't this intentional bullying?

After her grandmother left for treatment, the matters of the villa was left in the hands of her aunt and she spared no expense in fully abusing it.

When her children returned home late, the curfew didn't hold but for everyone else it stood especially for her. She tried her aunt's line again but it wasn't going. A plan executed perfectly.

She knew her aunty long enough to predict that those gates won't be opened no matter what. This wouldn't be the first time something like this was happening.

She glared and banged the gates one last time before walking away. People should really be aware of the repercussions of their actions.

She had no where else to go but luckily, the streets of crimson Avenue was known for it's serenity and security.

Just when she was done consoling herself, a loud screech echoed as a silvery car abruptly came to a stop some distance away.

Her first instinct was to run but the person in the car seemed to be in a haste and hence was completely unaware of her presence.

"Keep calling Dr Gwen" Blade ordered

He had also been trying the doctor's line the moment he noticed his masters condition.

Alarmed, he slammed the car to a halt but there was nothing more he could do. Even if Dr Gwendolyn were to be present, she wouldn't be of much assistance either but that was still a better option than just letting the master suffer.

"Find her and bring her here" he instructed the subordinates without taking his eyes off Lewis who was at the back seat.

The subordinate scurried off. Blade was a huge guy with a terrifying aura. The scar on his face didn't help much either. For someone like him to be looking this hopeless then Lewis condition was really complicated.

On the other hand, the young man at the back had a blank expression on his face. His eyes were shut while his thin lips parted a little. At first glance, one would conclude he had fallen asleep but that was far from the case.

His pale complexion and the bits of sweat trickling down his forehead said otherwise. His breathing that had managed to remain even suddenly accelerated.

His hands clenched into a tight fist turning his knuckles white. But in all these, he didn't yell or vent out his anger. He never believed physical pain was strong enough to break true restraint.

"Master!" Blade called out

Lewis on a normal day was already aloof and terrifying but this current version of him was on a whole different level. Even Blade could feel his hair stand on ends.

Lewis' eyes flashed open, they were scary and blood shot. He turned his head to the sides a little recklessly before shutting his eyes again.

His hands that were in a tight fist slowly relaxed and his breathing became weaker.

"Master!" Blade's aggrieved voice rang out

What he despised the most was his inability to do anything. Veterans in the medical fields and various specialists that had assessed Lewis condition were still unable to explain or trace the cause of his excruciating pain.

Those that were too scared to say much prescribed narcotics and anaesthetics before referring him to other professionals while the more bold ones clearly stated that they couldn't do anymore.

Lewis had given up on all the medical practitioners, doctor Gwendolyn was the only one still insistent on treating him.

...

After ensuring that she wasn't in danger, Calista took her time to observe the situation. The car doors were left wide open so she could see the person at the back.

Blade did that consciously so Lewis could get some ventilation. After sending out the last man by his side to get Dr Gwen, he became reckless as there was no more to be done.

Calista observed the man's condition, normally she would have come up with a diagnosis by now but the stranger's case seemed rather complicated. Even his friend with the scar looked terrified.

She could tell he was experiencing severe pains in his head and chest region. The more she picked up, the more puzzled she got. The symptoms didn't just match up.

Suddenly, her brows cringed up and she rushed over to the car. The door was already open so it was easy to gain access to the fellow.

Placing a finger under his nostrils, she confirmed her suspicion. He had stopped breathing.
