🏵️A story about standing under the moon and enjoying today 🏵️

I came home from Dhaka a few days ago. My friend, who used to live in the village, now lives in the city. He returns to the village during the weekend. Whenever I come home from Dhaka, I always spend time with him. He is the only friend I have in this area. This week he came to the village on his weekly holiday. Later, I called him and suggested we meet in the evening. But he said he wouldn’t be able to meet today due to various tasks. What could I do? People do have work. I accepted this harsh reality.

In the evening, I suddenly heard a notification sound on Messenger. I thought maybe someone had messaged me for something important. I opened my phone and saw that it was a message from my friend. He told me that he would be able to come to the market in the evening. I replied, “Alright then, let’s meet in the evening.”

The market is quite close to my house. So I told him, “Text me when you leave your house. I’ll wait on the bridge over the Kopotakkho River.” He messaged me once he left home. I then left my house and went to the bridge.

I sat alone on the bridge, waiting for him. Suddenly, my eyes turned toward the sky. Looking up, I saw the moon had risen beautifully tonight. Its shape looked really pleasant. I zoomed in with my phone and took a few pictures of the moon. With this new phone of mine, the pictures came out really well.

After a while, my friend arrived. The two of us stood on the bridge, having deep conversations under the beautiful night sky. We kept chatting for quite some time on the bridge over the river. Time was flying by without us even realizing it. After spending a long time there, we finally returned home.

All in all, tonight’s view of the moon was incredibly beautiful. It truly caught my attention. You don’t often get to see such a scene. And because I live in Dhaka city, I rarely get to look at the night sky properly. That’s why seeing the moon like this tonight made me feel very happy.
