Congratulations to me || Bagging two degrees at once in the University
The journey began in 2020 and ended in 2025. Although the COVID-19 pandemic took over 2020 and added an extra year for us, and the ASUU strike lasted for eight months costing us a full academic session I didn’t lose focus or become reluctant. I kept my head up and stayed determined.

Until yesterday…21/07/2025,
my unforgettable sign-out day from University of Uyo Akwa Ibom state. A moment that will forever be etched in my memory and my diary.
After my four (4) years of lectures, sleepless nights, endless exams, and struggles. I finally celebrated: "No more examinations as an undergraduate!"
Yesterday was no ordinary day for me, it was my sign-out day, my long waited and anticipated day. A day that was filled with unforgettable memories.
It marks the end of my academic chapter as undergraduate, but because it’s a celebration of my growth, survival, and every struggles in between.
It was a celebration that comes with mixed emotions and excitement for the future, nostalgia for the memories, and deep appreciation for the journey.

But nothing prepared me for the emotional surprise that would completely steal my heart than celebrating with friends, taking pictures, smiling at every scribble on my white shirt, and soaking in every moment.
My Unexpected Surprise |

In the middle of all the excitement, something truly unexpected happened something that touched my heart deeply.

Someone walked up to me, gently holding a wrapped package. With a warm smile and kind eyes, they said, “This is for you.”
In that moment, time paused. I wasn’t just receiving a gift I was receiving love, thoughtfulness, and a beautiful reminder that I mattered.
That small gesture meant more than words could ever express.
When I opened it, my heart melted.
"It was a portrait of me" a stunning, carefully graphic piece that captured my essence in a way no mirror ever could. My Teacher induction and licensed photo. The details, the effort, the time it must have taken… I was completely blown away. My eyes welled up with tears I didn’t expect. It wasn’t just a portrait. It was a moment frozen in time a reminder of who I am and how far I’ve come.

But that wasn’t all. Alongside the portrait came a special gift simple, thoughtful, and deeply meaningful. The kind of gift that makes me feel truly seen. The kind that says, “I appreciate you.” In that moment, I felt loved and celebrated beyond words.
That gesture made my day. I couldn’t stop smiling. And even as I write this, I still feel the warmth from that surprise. You see, gifts don’t have to be expensive to be powerful. It’s the heart behind them that matters, and today, I felt that heart in full force. I received love and care.

My most special moment was when children signed on my white and the all in one voice shouted congratulations, they all made different wishes and prayers for me, I feel the power and innocent in their voices, love and sincerity.

To compliment everything to the fullest, my amazing friends took me out to a sit out where we had a very cool and relaxed moment after a long time of struggles. Toast was proposed and good wishes and prayers offered.
Here is a Guy I met on my first the on campus, we did documentation the Same day and we sign out same day, he happened to be my best friend and a brother.
And of course,
As I close this chapter today and step into a new season, I carry these moments with me the joy, the laughter, the kindness, and the love.
The beauty of my sign out. |

It wasn’t just about signing out. It was about being surrounded by people who made the journey worth it. And today reminded me that I am blessed.
Here's to the end of a journey, the beginning of another, and the beautiful surprises that make it all worthwhile.
