Child Abuse

Child abuse is the maltreatment of young ones by adults which does not only involved physical maltreatment but also emotional maltreatment. It can also mean the treatment of children 🤗 in an I'll manner absence of care, love and protection among many others.

Forms of child Abuse Known To You That Are Prevalent In Your Locality.

In my locality, there are many forms of child abuse that are prevalent. Some of them which I know of are:
Sexual Abuse
Physical Abuse (violence)
Verbal Abuse

• Sexual Abuse
  The rate at which rape is occurring in all parts of the world is so alarming. The forceful and violent sex with someone who is not interested is known as sexual Abuse. At times it must not necessarily be forced. When an adult females calls a small boy into her room for what only them knows is abuse. This is what my friend Eugene experienced as a small boy.

The story that was a trend of how an old man forced himself into a 4 year girl and died because his penis got cut is another example of sexual Abuse. Lecturers also demand for sex to give higher scores.

• Physical Abuse
  Many children suffer from physical maltreatment from adults. In my locality, when a child does a little mistake like using bleach to wash a coloured material and it gets bad the adult who is close will beat the child mercilessly.

The example of a boy who got killed in school from flogging. He died and the mother cried profusely and was buried by the school.

• Verbal Abuse
  It's very good to cheer a child up when he/she does something desirous of appreciation. If this is not done, the child will feel bad and guilty and neglected. Some adults lay down courses on children Wich brings emotional trauma and all the things that a kid is not supposed to hear as it tears one down.

Who is at risk the most, the male or female child?

In my locality, a girl child is mostly affected by these forms of child abuse. There is a greater percentage of females than males who are affected these forms of child Abuse. This could be caused by discrimination of the feminine gender and so on.

What Effect Can They Have On The Kids?

The effect of child abuse are

Guilt	speechlessness
Fear	Distrust on adults
Low self esteem	Isolation
Unhappy	Self blame

How Can The Kids Avoid Them?

1. When a child is obedient, he or she is loved by any adult around. This will help reduce child Abuse

2. Kids can avoid being abused if they respect their parents or other adults

3. Kids can avoid being abused through the study of Civic Education. This will enlightened the public about the fundamental rights of every human

4. Knowing that child abuse is punishable by the law will aid to avoid their abuse.
